What it means to be a Squidoo Squid Angel -- Blessings to you, my dear!
Then, after my grandparents all passed on it was in Lily Dale, a spiritualist community in Chautauqua County, NY that I had my first spiritual reading. At that time, I was told that there were auras around me of two women; i.e. my grandmothers. They were likened to my particular guardian angels.
Since my early days of schooling to today, I have had an appreciation for angels. I am honored to be an active Squid Angel, earning my angel wings on October 13, 2009. Blessings to YOU, my dear!

What a remarkably reflective and inspiring angel! This angel monument pretty accurately captures my feelings as I reflect on what all it has meant to be a Squid Angel. Although I have retired my angel wings, I hope to be returning soon. In the meantime, be on the look out for other Squid Angels who may grace your lens(es) with their special blessings of angel dust!

- I do believe in angels like you have on your lens --there are some really pretty ones here. I also believe in faeries, which are nature angels. Those are my favorite and feel closest to them. Very lovely page, feels peaceful :)

What types of Squid Angels are there?
Some Squid Angels are 'hoverers' ... Is that such a word?
Blessings to you, my dear!
1. To remain floating, suspended, or fluttering in the air: gulls hovering over the waves or angels hovering over Squidoo lenses!
2. To remain or linger in or near a place: hovering around the speaker's podium.
3. To remain in an uncertain state; waver: hovered between anger and remorse.
As you can probably guess, I go for definition #1! And, being new in my role as a Squid Angel, I describe myself as a 'hoverer.' It also comes from my Marketing background and strong need for analytical research. You see, I don't like to jump to any conclusions but require lots of data and lots of research.
It's after I acquire plenty of empirical research -- look at lots of lenses -- that I feel empowered to bless them! No willy nilly, mindless blessing.
Here's such a 'hovering' Squid Angel ... it's really ME hard at work.
Some Squid Angels are buglers! It's OK, but not usually the norm!

1. Music: To sound a bugle.
2. To give forth a deep, prolonged sound similar to the bay of a hound.
There are some Squid Angels who will announce their visits and their blessings. Alrightee, I will confess that I have sounded the bugle a couple of times, but I must admit that I found some lenses which warranted a bugle blast!

Some, if not MOST, Squid Angels are humble! Just 'cause I'm blonde doesn't mean I'm NOT humble.

Imagine this fashionable and very hip Squid Angel flying in to bless one of YOUR lenses!
- Yes, we're considering a way to let lensmasters know when their lenses have been blessed or dinged. Right now they don't know unless an Angel tells them. Angels are free to communicate that (or not) in whatever way is most comfortable for them.
- Every Squid Angel makes a difference. If one Angel blesses a lens, the lens gets a small boost. If several Angels bless it, the boost jumps to a new tier.
- The idea is not to form a jury and drive a traditional consensus. That would be an entirely different program. Instead, the idea is to empower you as individuals.
- The Angels group is varied, by design, and I'm betting you'll each browse and bless (or ding) different lenses in a broad range of topics. Then, when diverse opinions from top lensmasters converge naturally in the same place, that's when something really special happens.
- Angels are not required to give editorial reviews of lenses that are posted in the Angels forum. But if they'd like to, they can.
- Nope, Angels won't ding lenses that are still under construction.
- Nope, LensRank doesn't affect your Google traffic or other search engine results.
- Yep, Angels are allowed to bless a few (not all!) of their own lenses. Hey, they're working hard for everyone else, they deserve the same perk.
- The coolest thing I've heard today is that Angels are doing so much more than blessing lenses... they're also adding those lenses to StumbleUpon, Delicious, rating them, etc.

I believe in angels of all kinds. After Mom divorced our abusive alcoholic father, she had to clean chickens for a living. One nite when I was ten, I sat in the kitchen doing my homework while she finished the last chicken. She looked so weary. A few minutes later she joined me at the table with the most glorious smile on her face. She said, "I think an angel just hugged me. I feel so warm and happy all of a sudden." I never forgot her face and the joyous sound of her voice. Yes, there are angels all around us and whichever one gave my mom a hug that night, I'm grateful. Great lens.

- When I first joined Squidoo a few months back, I thought my first angel blessing was just a really sweet way of saying "nice lens". I think the first one just said something like Blessings to you and I thought, wow, how cool. Then I got one that said Blessed by a Squid Angel. Ok, I thought, so this is a lensmaster with a funny bone and they just call themselves a Squid Angel. Then I joined the Giant Squid Challenge and learned sooooo much. I figured out real fast how "ignorant" I really was and I just keep my mouth shut and my eyes open. Now, when a Squid Angel leaves a blessing, I feel gifted.
Oh, by the way, could you please keep that little confession under your wings. No one else knows:)
