Jake Characteristics
Main Accessory: Jake's prized possessions include his wooden sword (given to him by Peter Pan) and a spyglass.
The above Rogue Pirate Costume already includes a vest, a sword, and the appropriate shoes.
Incorporate a few simple and inexpensive changes and you are set.
- Add blue pants (dark jeans will be fine).
- Add a red head wrap. You can easily cut up a $1 shirt from the local craft store and cut to fit the length you need.
- Add large gold buttons to the vest.
Wait! Don't forget Jake's Spyglass!
Izzy Costume

Izzy Characteristics
Catchphrase: Yay, hey, no way.
Main Accessory: Izzy has a small sack of pixie dust, which was given to her by the fairies (Tinker Bell & her friends). The team only uses the pixie dust for emergencies.
There isn't an official Izzy costume for Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
Have no fear!
Luckily, Izzy is easy to recreate with just a few items you might have at home: pink shirt with ruffle sleeves, purple leggings, pirate boots, pink bandanna, and a fairy dust pouch.
Every pirate needs a talking parrot.
He really repeats everything you say. He has beautiful colors, is well made and provides loads of fun for young (and old) pirate lovers.
A parrot is the perfect gift for the pirate who has everything!

Cubby Costume Tips: The great thing about cubby's costume is that you can buy a fleece vest and snow boots and these do double-duty all winter long. Plus, they will help to keep your son warm on a chilly Halloween night! Add some great big gold buttons to the vest for more excitement! Most importantly, make sure your Cubby has his map. Cubby is the official keeper of the map of Never Land and always has it with him.

Wham-O Pirates Treasure Pool Game
Price: $13.95
Why I Love It: The game comes with 10 coins that really say "doubloons" on them. They are made of a durable hard plastic. They are large, so younger siblings can't swallow them.
The coins are intended to be used in the pool for older kids. However, my son carries them around as his "doubloons." He counts them. He hides them. He takes them out of their treasure box and puts them back in. He counts them again.
This is a WIN gift for a child who enjoys Jake and the Neverland Pirates.
How to find it: Do a google search for "Wham-O Pirates Treasure Pool Game" and some sites should pop up. I don't see that amazon is selling these now. I bought mine years ago when my oldest child was into pirates.
I hope Disney makes some Jake and the Neverland Pirate stuff soon!

I Love My Pirate Papa is a pirate bedtime book for every pirate boy. The story highlights all of the father and son bonding a pair could do, if they were a pirate pair. Can I tell you a secret? I listen at the door when my husband reads it to my son. I do.How did I discover I Love My Pirate Papa?
My son found it at a library and refused to let me take it back. Finally, we had to buy a copy of our own.
I tear up when the father tucks the son to bed at night and whispers as he turns out the light:

How I Became a Pirate is a favorite pirate book in our home.I love How I Became a Pirate because it is a quick read and has wonderful illustrations.
In this book you will learn that pirates stay up all night and don't have to eat their vegetables. Ahem... they also don't get tucked in or "sweet dream" kisses. {{wink, wink}}

5. Pirate Wall Decals
I love wall decals because they are a quick, inexpensive, and nonpermanent way to spruce up my son's room. We can easily change the theme of his room in the blink of an eye.Right now we have cars on the wall, but I think pirates are coming soon.

- Yes. Not only toys. Clothes also. And, hopefully, if they do come out with a line of clothing; I hope they include larger sizes! My grandson 'loves' Jake and the Neverland Pirates...He is only going to be 6 this July but, he is very big. Most caracter clothing seems to only go to size 7 !
