Wear Your Baby - You'll Love It!

Research has shown that babies who are carried at least 3 hours a day cry 40% less than infants who aren't' carried as much.

How many times have you picked up your fussy baby, rocked or swayed (I'm a swayer) her in your arms and they quiet down or fall asleep.

"Wearing Your Baby" isn't just picking him up after he has started crying as a last resort.

Wearing your baby is snuggling her close a few hours a day just to be close.
It's a most intimate way to communicate love.

Holding your baby in your arms for hours on end without putting them down
just isn't practical.
So we cuddle them in a sling and... Voila! Hands FREE!

It says "I want to be close to you, to talk to you, to kiss your cheek, to gaze into those adorable eyes!
The communication between "wearer' and "wear-ee" is so special,
Your baby will even forget to fuss; unless of course it's because of the ever present issue of being wet or hungry.

Some people told me - "that baby needs to put down, she needs to learn to be by herself"
Excuse me?! Babies do NOT need to "learn" to be by themselves.
The more your baby feels connected to you as an infant - the more independent they will be as they grow older.

There are many slings and baby carriers out there
Some have padding, loops, pockets: some don't.

My personal favorite is the Maya Wrap.
It is fashioned after what the Mayan Indian women use .
It is a long piece of ultra- soft, but very strong woven cotton.
Nestled in the pocket of this fantastic fabric - your baby is like a little Kangaroo Joey

So this is not a carrier that has the baby confined with legs and arms sprawled out and you can't even see their face.
As they get older, it's easy to wear them on your hip and still be hands free!

Yes, Daddy can wear his baby too. They both LOVE that!

My daughter spent many a happy hour, the first 2 years of life, in her sling (Maya Wrap to be specific)
She was rarely in a stroller
Ewww! Down there with all that car exhaust! YUK!
They like it "Up, where the air is clear.", to quote a favorite Mary Poppins song.

Babies LOVE to be worn, why, because they see momma's face, hear her heartbeat, feel her warmth and movement that they came to know in the womb.

If you are already wearing your baby - AWESOME - don't you just love it?!
If you aren't -go ahead- give it a try, you'll be thrilled you did!

Do You Wear Your Baby?

Do you use a sling?

Are you thinking of using a sling but need more information?

Do you think it's the silliest thing you have ever heard of?

Couldn't agree more with holding your child. Those first years go by quicker than you think they will and before you know it, they're off and running! Enjoy the closeness and use a sling to help - I did over 30 years ago. You cannot spoil a baby by holding them!

my daughter ; that she would never want to be away from me. Now she is sooooo
    independent!
