JAKERS!
Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks is a delightfully funny and touching children's show that is one of our all-time favorites. Whether laughing along as Piggley and Dannon are convinced that Ferny's been turned in to a bug or breathless waiting to see what's making the spooky sounds in the barn/pretend pirate ship - this program never disappoints.

It's the tale of our pal Piggley
Ireland is the world he loves so well
He wriggles out of spots that are downright stickley
How he does that only he can tell
Piggley, Ferny, Molly, and Dannan
Never miss a chance to have too much fun
In Tara or Raloo
Lots of excitement for everyone!
Curiosity's in a hurry
Leaving no time to stop and think
The line between wild and crazy gets blurry
Jakers! The adventures of Piggley Winks!
Grandpa Piggley
Every child should have a Grandpa like this!
Grandpa Piggley is the narrator of the show. The stories unfold as he tells them to his Grandchildren and we are transported back to his childhood in Ireland. In one of the most touching episodes, on Grandpa's birthday he was treated to a surprise visit from his best friend Ferny (now all grown up!). Catch A Great Episode!

Janie Mack! Jakers is on Wiki.
Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks is a children's television series. The show is animated using Computer-generated imagery and broadcast in the United States on PBS Kids (English) from 2003-2008 and Univision (dubbed in Spanish as of April 2008); in Ireland on RTÉ Two, as part of The Den; in Australia on ABC; in Ontario on TVOKids; in the UK on BBC Two, and Cbeebies; in Poland on TVP and in Brazil on TV Cultura and Discovery Kids. It has been translated into Scottish Gaelic for viewers watching BBC Two Scotland, as well as into German, Gaelic, Portuguese, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian and Italian.
The show chronicles the boyhood adventures of Piggley Winks, an anthropomorphic pig from Ireland and how he relates these stories to his grandchildren as a grandfather in the present day.
The word "Jakers!" is based on an Irish expression used back in the 1950's and means "wow!" or "amazing!" - Piggley and his father use it to express their delight when they discover something on their adventures. The word isn't used anymore in Ireland.

Meet Piggley
Jakers! Grandpa used to be a kid?
Piggley Winks spends his day like any other kid, going to school, playing with his friends, learning to dance, exploring the world through his imagination. Piggley is fearless, friendly, and loyal to his best friends Dannan and Fernie. His little sister Molly, loves to teach him a thing or two sometimes. Ferny!
Master Fernando Toro. Piggley's best friend.
Ferny is Piggley's best friend and a true blue companion. He is sensitive, sweet, and always quick to join in on Piggley's adventures. The son of the village blacksmith, Don Toro, Fernie is intensely proud of both his Irish and Spanish roots. Dancing with a Goldfish
Entertaining Enough to Watch Again and Again.
Dannan
One spunky little duck
Dannan is a plucky little duck, a fireball with webbed feet. She's best chums with Piggley and Fernie and joins in on all of their quests. She's fearless and uninhibited. When her Grandmother (a champion dancer) teaches Irish dance to their school, Dannan flings herself in with abandon. Of course, she really can't dance very well, but watching this little duck just do her own thing is a beautiful thing. When the boys decide that girls can't join in thier scary story group, Dannan joins forces with Molly and Mrs. Winks to teach the boys a thing or two! Molly

My Dirty Little Secret
Jakers! is the only children's show that *I* watch even if the kiddos aren't around. Sometimes I catch the day's episode on TIVO after my little ones are tucked in bed.
Wiley
He's a sheep. And he talks. But none of the other sheep do.
Wiley is the Mel Brooks (Literally, he's voiced by Mel Brooks himself!)of the show, sort of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Farm" type character. He is usually the only sheep who speaks, although he's not a "person" character, just the leader of his flock. Wiley Gets Some Love From His Flock
Jakers! Piggley Winks - The sheep sing Wiley a song
Wiley notices his wool is thinning, and he's feeling the cold. The sheep sing a baa-arbershop style song to help cheer him up. But could magic growth fertilizer be the answer to his problem? (Note the warning in the brochure!)
