Animal Lovers with Love James Herriot Books
Being an animal lover myself, I have fallen in love with James Herriot books. The adventures of a country veterinarian in rural Yorkshire, England in the pre-World War II days. His reminiscenes of the various animals he treated along with the stories of the farmers and townspeople in a beautiful country setting are told with gentle humor and delightful color.
I have just finished Vet in Harness, Herriot's fourth book in his country vet series. Without reservation, I recommend it to all animal lovers, young and old.
His books are not limited to the world of the country vet, though. Herriot has written numerous books covering many animal stories. Some he has directed towards younger readers. But, all are safe for every age of reader.
Books always make wonderful gifts and James Herriot's books make great gifts for animal lovers.

- Coming from Yorkshire myself I can really appreciate the humour in James Herriots books, I couldn't get enough of them as a teenager!
Also loved the films and tv series.
