Was Madison a friend or acquaintance of 1815 Mobile, Alabama, 3rd U.S. Infantry, Col. Gilbert Christian Russell, Sr., 1782-1861, born high on a windy hill, Abingdon, Virginia? Russell was a friend of Capt. Meriwether Lewis.

Thanks for doing this lens. The founders were head and shoulders above the men we currently have in Washington, D.C. For the most part, anyway. There are one or two exceptions. They came so close to getting it right but made a few mistakes. The Bill of Rights isn't really supported in the Constitution, it sort of floats there, incomplete, without clear examples and without any teeth to stop our government from doing precisely what those great men feared it would do. But considering the tools they had to work with and to communicate with, what they did was totally amazing.
Would you do me the honor of reading my lens on Rights? There isn't a single subject more important than that because, if I'm correct, it establishes the connection to survival that is missing in the constitution. It also delineates the function of government and at the same time protects us from it becoming predatory, which it certainly is today.
    Thanks again.
