James Van Blaricum and Signal Oil and Gas
Signal Oil and Gas has started with $5,000 in contributions for victims of the tornado.
Jerry and Clarice Kurosky's lives changed that dreadful afternoon. Kurosky, who owns a lumberyard business near Signal Oil and Gas, had his ear nearly severed off from flying debris. Van Blaricum helped to set up a fund for the family to help then with medical bills and getting back on their feet. He donated $2,000.00 to help start the fund.
Perhaps the hardest hit building was that of the Valley Missionary Baptist Church off of Carson Street in Ft. Worth, located about half a mile from Signal Oil and Gas. Along with many donations from the community around them, Van Blaricum had SOG donate $1,000.00 to help rebuild the destroyed historic church building. The congregation, having to meet at a community center until the building repairs are done, have stated how blessed they are to have a community that cares and helps.

James Van Blaricum, CEO of Signal Oil and Gas, has been an entrepreneur in several industries. After becoming a medical doctor in the early seventies, Van Blaricum found that his passions were more towards pioneering and running businesses. He started in the oil and gas business in Texas near San Antonio and eventually ran a successful chain of car care facilities before moving back to the oil and gas industry.
At the end of the nineties, Van Blaricum decided to pursue building a fast food chain and towards that end hired several people away from a prominent west coast fast food chain.
