Born on 13th September 1960, 20 minutes after twin brother John.(RIP 1989)
Ballina, County Mayo IRELAND.

Mother has a twin brother, and Dad (RIP 2004) has a twin sister.

Elder sister, born 12th August 1959. Nigeria
Younger brother born 4th September 1961. Dublin Ireland
Younger sister born 8th October 1963

Dad was raised mostly in Liverpool, with his twin sister, and younger sister
Became a "Merchant Seaman", so was well traveled. He took a shore job in Nigeria,when he had 4 children under 3 years old, to help look after them. Lived in Ireland, Nigeria, and England. Finally back in Europe, moved from "The Wirral" Cheshire,to Dover Kent. (circa 1968 ?)

Mum is from Crossmolina County Mayo Ireland.
One of 7 with an older sister and brother, her twin brother, and 2 younger brothers and a sister.
Trained to be a Nurse in Liverpool, where she met her Future Husband !!

After returning to U.K.from Nigeria, to "The Wirall" near Liverpool, we settled in Dover in Kent.
We all went to Saint Richards Primary School, which was ruled by Sister Dymphna.
After that, us Lads went to Sir Roger Manwoods Grammar School, in Sandwich, Kent.
In my later school years, I used to skive off and caddy at Royal Saint Georges Golf Club, instead of studying.
Got ONE "O" level in Maths, much to the disappointment of me Parents.
Attended South Kent College of Technology in Ashford , in an attempt to re-take the Exams

In 1992 I was a "Ballybunion Bachelor". Eight days of Drink and Partying....and Irish Women, throwing themselves at You.... If you married within the Year, your prize would Double....

About Ballybunion.

Ballybunion is a growing coastal town situate in North Kerry, near the mouth of the Shannon Estuary. The town is perched on cliffs overlooking the Atlantic sea and beautiful beaches. It has been a favorite holiday destination for many for years and has many attractions to the tourist. It is also a thriving community and a very scenic location.

Ballybunion Golf course has also become one of the most famous and the best courses in the world, and has entertained prominent Hollywood stars such as Hugh Grant and even U.S. Presidents, such as Bill Clinton, to whom a statue has been erected in the town.

The town boasts some friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants with fresh seafood, not to mention the race meetings, the festivals ( including the Bachelor Festival) and other social events happening the year around- the craic is mighty in Ballybunion!
What was once called "The Gay Bachelor Festival" changed to "The International Bachelor Festival" due to peoples change in perception of the word "GAY".....

But sure...I'm always Happy......

Also in 1992, I entered...or was entered into.... The Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Competition.
Held on the last weekend of this month long Festival. Meant I had to get up on Stage and do something to entertain.

About Lisdoonvarna

The small spa town of Lisdoonvarna, with a population of around 800 people, has attracted visitors from all over Ireland to its mineral springs, since the 18th century. A long held traditional in this central town on the southern edges of the scenic Burren area, is the matchmaking festival. After the harvests in September, young farmers from all over Ireland would shuffle into Lisdoonvarna to find themselves a potential wife, with the help of the 'basadoiri' or matchmakers.

This tradition is upheld today by fourth generation matchmaker (and horse dealer) Willie Daly and today the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival is one of the largest matchmaking events in Europe attracting some 40,000 hopefuls and festival-goers, over the month. Held at weekends throughout September in venues throughout Lisdoonvarna, the festival events include traditional Irish dance and music, speed dating, horse racing and culminates with the Mr. Lisdoonvarna and Queen of the Burren competitions to find the most eligible lady & gentleman of that year.

The Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival is great friendly fun, and as they say 'the craic is mighty in Lisdoonvarna'
