Some Helpful Tip For The Beginner

We all need som guidance sometimes an when learning guitar you need all the guidance you can get. Here are just a few tips to use when learning guitar.
Tips For The Beginner
Get a TutorBad habits can be easily picked up and this is where a tutor will step in and set you straight. What you need is feedback and advice and a tutor is one of the best ways of getting it.
Of course Jamorama is like a tutor with all the videos showing you how to play but it doesn't have the ability to give feedback on your playing.
Persistence
When you first learn guitar it is all too easy to get discouraged or suffer from an information overload. When this happens just put down your guitar until your head is clear and come back later. Remember to come back and keep trying until you get it right though as with most things, Persistence is the Key.
Practice Makes Perfect
This isn't new advice I hear you say. Of course it isn't but practice just always seems to work. Playing guitar becomes a lot easier over time and once your fingers stop bleeding when you play your on your way to being a decent guitar player. To practice successfully you need to find a quiet place and set a time period, say 30 minutes and just practice remembering to stretch your fingers before you play.
Schedule Your Playing
This involves simply setting a certain time each day for guitar playing and sticking to it. Simple or what? Well this can be pretty difficult if you have a hectic life but give it a try anyway.
Watch Your Speed!
To play any song correctly the first time you will need to take your time and play it slowly until you think you've got it. Then you can slowly increase the speed at which you play the song.
Back Aches
Playing guitar can play havoc with your back and your posture in general. Sitting for too long playing guitar can produce pains in your back, neck, shoulders and elsewhere. Take a break once you think you are stiffening up or feel uncomfortable, stretch or go for a walk before resuming play
Change Those Strings
The sound produced from a guitar with new strings can be very pleasant to listen to, but listening to someone strum away on strings that are past there sell by date is awful. If you are playing your guitar quiete often then you will need to change your strings every 1-2 months. Most professionals will change strings before each gig they play.
Uninspired?
Playing the same thing everyone plays can get boring unless it's a really timeless one, so try experimenting with different sounds and be innovative with your guitar playing. Another method you can use is if you have mastered a song on electric then go play it on acoustic. A totally different sound can be produced and it can be refreshing to hear the song played in a different way. Also try not to stick to one genre of music. More than likely you will only learn the songs you would listen to anyway but why not try switching to blues or hard rock to folk. Mix it up and you will be expanding your skills at the same time.
Timing
Timing plays a major part in learning guitar and timing can be mastered using a metronome. A metronome is a tool you can use to start off at a slow speed and increase the speed as you progress. It just makes you better at timing the same way some musicians tap their foot while playing to keep time.
