3 Reasons Why People and Their Dermatologists Love Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base SPF 20
So what's the fuss about Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base? Check this out:
- It is one of the few non-irritating pressed mineral makeup on skin (as is the case with most of Jane Iredale products). This is coming from people with acne problems, rosacea, scarred and dry skin!
- IT LOOKS NATURAL - without the mess that comes from loose powder, and without the weird shine you might get from other mineral makeup brands!
- Note the SPF 20 on the label, which indicates sunscreen protection to boot!
The catch - You absolutely, positively NEED TO KNOW HOW TO APPLY, WHAT BRUSHES TO APPLY WITH! Yes there is a learning curve, but it's a small one =)
So scroll on down to get Jane Iredale purepressed base reviews, and detailed step by step on how to use this line of mineral powder makeup.

Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base And Your Skin - Does Work Well Together?

What if you have rosacea, sun-burned blotchy skin, or acne prone oily skin? Will clog your pores or break you out?
Guess what - even people with extremely sensitive skin have loved using it. Pure Pressed is designed to be good on sensitive skin without breaking it out, as you can see the list of ingredients listed before.
That being said, you do want to check the ingredient list to see if there is anything particular that you are allergic to - allergies are the main culprit for breakouts in this line of mineral makeup.
All the colors match skin tone very easily. The finish is soft, moist, not shiny, but not too matte. It just makes getting that flawless skin look easier - especially if you have skin conditions or if you're going into your 30's, 40's, and 50's.
Coverage and Lasting Power of Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base
Pure Pressed will last the whole day if applied properly. Some users may not even need to do touch ups even after going to the gym!
The wonderful thing about pressed powder is that it is compact and travel friendly. So if you find you need a small touch up here and there, there won't be a mess you have to deal with from loose powder.
With the right application, you won't have a cakey, oil-slicked, or orange oxidation problem with Pure Pressed.

Before Step 1: Pure Pressed Base NEEDS the Handi Brush!
Why PurePressed + Handi Brush ??

Two Reasons:
1. It picks the right amount of powder for your face!
Too much is NO GOOD.
2. AVOID THAT UNNATURAL GLOW.
You know how people get that nasty disco-ball shine? Applying too much pressure to the compact is why! Mineral makeup is like a gem - the more you rub, the more it shines! This brush applies the right pressure at the right amount to avoid weird glow.
Step 1: Moisturize Before Putting Pure Pressed
Don't skimp out, Jane Iredale can only do so much with pressed powder.
Powder products will emphasize flakiness. To counter that, you will need a decent moisturizer to let the powder absorb into skin.
Now, not just any moisturizer works. You need a GOOD one.

Step 2: Pure Pressed secret - Jane Iredale Absence Primer for that flawless look

Get Jane Iredale Absence
Primer is an important step to filling fine lines, pores, and softening the appearance of any other imperfections in the skin. So if you don't have any of these common issues, primer is optional for you.
But for the rest of us, this primer is HIGHLY recommended - particularly Jane Iredale's Absence in this case. Why? Because Absence compliments best with Pure Pressed Base .
Mix-N-Match Pure Pressed with Jane Iredale Loose Powder ~ Amazing Base and Amazing Matte
Get creative for the perfect finish.
Some may find it heavy if Pure Pressed is applied directly on top of the moisturizer.
You can lighten it by putting on some loose powder first.
Highly recommend Amazing Base, or even Amazing Matte finishing powder or pressed matte finishing powder. These will not only lighten things up, it will help the foundation things last longer all day.

Oily Skin Users - Bonus Tip for Using Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base on Extra Oily Skin
Your T-zone area gets the most oily and sweaty during the day, which can really let the powder slide off. It's annoying to have to do constant touch-ups.
What you can do is apply a light dusting of Larenim Dusk Till Dawn powder just over the T-zone area, and in-between two layers of JI Pure Pressed Powder Base. The Kaolin clay in the Larenim is great at absorbing excess oil without causing blemishes.

Step 3: Pure Pressed Base Brushing Technique
Grab your Handi Brush.

Swirl the brush 4 or 5 times.
Lightly buff in a circular motion all over your face.
That's it! For those who have used liquids before, this is so quick and easy compared to applying a liquid foundation.
Don't over do it! Remember, the more you rub, the more it shines! And you don't want to put too much amount, as it WILL become cakey.
Pure Pressed is buildable, and mixable with other powders (as mentioned here). With Jane Iredale line of makeup, you really need very little that will go a looong way. So remember not to put too much, even if you think you need extra coverage.

Step 4: Spritz and Spray over Pure Pressed Powder
Spraying will make any powder residue settle in.
Now this may not be needed if you use Pure Pressed lightly. But as coverage is extremely buildable, those of us who need a LOT of coverage will need spraying.
This helps the powder last forever, and makes the skin feel refreshed as well.
Spray can be used over other powder products too, like bronzer. So this is not a single application investment.
