Some fan themselves at the image of Lizzy and Darcy in the throes of passion while others think 'Eww! Too much detail!' Or perhaps they feel that since the original novel didn't include bedroom scenes, and since they came to fanfiction to get more time with that novel and its characters, that the sex scenes do nothing to add to the experience they are looking for.

I only read pride and prejudice fan fiction. I like sex scenes but only in modern fiction. I like for things to get hot and heavy for a couple of minutes, I think it makes the story move along nicely. Have Darcy show Lizzy exactly how much he wants her without propriety being an issue anymore.

I like the sex scenes (if they're tastefully done). I see Darcy as a passionate person underneath it all, and Lizzy just needs to unlock that. Of course, he would teach her some new things in the process.

I like it, but a lot of times it's very formulaic and uses gross flowery language with lots of whispered words of love and I am not into that.

I perfere not to have the sex scenes. I like to leave that to the imagination just as Jane did. If the story is well written there is no need for more detail.

Most of it isn't really written that well. It is usually pretty formulaic. However, once in awhile someone does a pretty decent job that is passionate without being pornographic or a connect-the-dots-type exercise.

I don't think the portrayal of sex is necessarily "gross" in fanfiction writing if it's done well, however, in the case of JAFF I just don't think it's necessary, nor do I think it particularly fits.
