New!!! Darcy's Passions, by Regina Jeffers

Darcy's Passions

Description: Darcy's Passions takes Fitzwilliam Darcy from his initial meeting with Elizabeth Bennet through the many misunderstandings, which define their relationship, eventually leading through her acceptance of his proposal. Unlike Austen's summary, the courtship, the honeymoon and the marriage become part of Darcy's transformation as the book takes the reader back to Pemberley, showing Elizabeth claiming a "niche" in the estate's history while Darcy learns love and control are not the same thing.

The Best Pride and Prejudice Sequels Ever

Longing for more of Darcy and Elizabeth? The novels below are all worthy of praise. They are simply a must for any Pride and Prejudice fan.

We no longer have to wonder what came after the wedding. Get out your fans ladies...some of these sequels are positively shocking! Be sure to read the reviews for warnings of Darcy and Elizabeth's blatant frolicking fun!

An Assembly Such As This: A Novel of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman by Pamela Aiden
Aidan retells the now iconic story of Pride and Prejudice through the eyes of Fitzwilliam Darcy as he visits Netherfield with his good friend Charles Bingley and his sisters. The austere Darcy takes life very seriously, and is at a loss as to how he became friends with the amicable Bingley. Darcy has escaped many marriage-minded mothers and their daughters, which is why he initially disdains the Bennet family. Once he gets to know Elizabeth, however, he realizes his mistake, but his attempts to apologize to her only make him act even more awkwardly in her presence. The first in Aidan's planned trilogy of improvisations on Jane Austen concludes with the infamous Netherfield ball. Austen fans will relish the tale's retelling from Darcy's perspective as well as new characters, including Fletcher, the insightful and amusing valet who apparently approves of the charming Miss Elizabeth Bennet. Patty Engelmann

Conviction: A Sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, by Skylar Hamilton Burris
Georgianna Darcy has a flattering array of suitors in this charming continuation of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. As the sister of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Georgianna is assured of a large dowry. It's up to her to weed out the fortune hunters amongst her beaus. But can she further determine who loves her for all that she represents in the way of beauty and innocence and who loves her for all of herself? And once she has given her word to one man, can she train her heart to obey?

Darcy and Elizabeth: Days and Nights at Pemberly, by Linda Berdoll
Berdoll's second lighthearted romp through Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice set (following Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife) turns nasty. Things start off sweetly as the terminally dignified Darcy returns from the continent to greet wife Elizabeth and the twins she has borne in his absence. Despite initial annoyance engendered by Elizabeth's recuperation, during which sex is rather out of the question, hearth and home soon return to normal. However...

Darcy's Story, by Janet Aylmer
When Elizabeth Bennet first met Mr. Darcy, she found him proud, distant, and rude-despite the other ladies' admiration of his estate in Derbyshire and ten thousand pounds a year. But what was Mr. Darcy thinking?

Jane Austen's classic Pride and Prejudice has long stood among the most beloved novels of all time. The story of Elizabeth Bennet's blossoming romance with "haughty, reserved, and fastidious" Fitzwilliam Darcy has enchanted readers for nearly two centuries. Yet, Mr. Darcy has always remained an intriguing enigma-his thoughts, feelings, and motivations hidden behind a cold, impenetrable exterior . . . until now.

With the utmost respect for Austen's original masterwork, author Janet Aylmer loving retells Pride and Prejudice from a bold new perspective: seeing events as they transpire through the eyes of Darcy himself. One of world's great love stories takes on breathtaking new life, and one of fiction's greatest romantic heroes becomes even more sympathetic, compelling, attractive, and accessible, all through the imagination and artistry of a truly gifted storyteller.

Desire and Duty: A Sequel Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, by Ted and Marilyn Bader
Desire and Duty follows Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam as they begin their married lives, and assume thier reapective roles as the master and mistress of Pemberley. With extensive historical notes, the authors do a good job of portraying the lifestyle of the landed gentry...

Duty and Desire: A Novel of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman by Pamela Aiden
What is it about Fitzwilliam Darcy? Two hundred years after he captivated Elizabeth Bennett, readers still can't seem to get their fill of him. This title is just the latest in Darcy-inspired Jane Austen "fanfiction." It's better to forget Pride and Prejudice and read Aidan's knockoff on its own terms. Duty and Desire takes place during but soon Darcy is embroiled in a somewhat improbable mystery, which is solved thanks in part to the below-stairs access of Fletcher, his resourceful valet. Plenty of period detail, witty dialogue, humor (including a scene in which several characters discuss the new novel Sense and Sensibility), and elements of the gothic will keep readers entertained...

Letters from Pemberley, the First Year: A Continuation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Dawkins
Strictly for Jane Austen devotees, this epistolary novel picks up where Pride and Prejudice left off. Drafting 25 letters from Elizabeth Darcy (nee Bennett) to her sister Jane, Dawkins seeks to describe Elizabeth's first months as mistress of Pemberley. Gossip about characters from Pride and Prejudice is presented, as are a number of new characters cheerfully identified by Dawkins in her preface as pastiches of Austen characters from other books and from Austen's own life.

Lydia Bennet's Story: A Sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Odiwe
In Lydia Bennet's Story we are taken back to Jane Austen's most beloved novel, Pride and Prejudice, to a Regency world seen through Lydia's eyes where pleasure and marriage are the only pursuits. Lydia's dream of following the regiment to the fashionable resort of Brighton comes true, she is soon the darling of all the officers and tempted not only by a handsome royal dragoon, but drawn to the irresistible charms of one already well known to her. But the road to matrimony is fraught with difficulties and even when she is convinced that she has met the man of her dreams, she quickly discovers that her hero is not the man she believes him to be. Before long his reputation has her running back to Hertfordshire to be reunited with Bennets, Bingleys and Darcys, meeting once again for a grand ball at Netherfield Park. Will she resolve her problems to find happiness or will the shocking truth about her husband cause the greatest scandal of all?

Miss de Bourgh's Adventure: A Sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejuice, by Joan Ellen Delman
Lady Catherine de Bourgh had always intended a marriage between her daughter Anne and her nephew Mr Darcy. But when Mr Darcy has the temerity to thwart her plans by marrying Miss Elizabeth Bennet instead, Lady Catherine resolves on bringing Anne to Bath to seek a husband. Shortly after their arrival, her ladyship is run down by a reckless coachman, and Mr and Mrs Collins hasten to Bath to be of service. As Lady Catherine recuperates from her injuries, Anne is befriended by the beautiful Louisa Wynnewood, and courted by Miss Wynnewood's oh-so-charming and irresistibly handsome brother. But can the Wynnewoods be trusted - or are they only after Anne's fortune? A satisfying love story, written with elegance and wit.

Mr. Darcy's Dairy, by Amanda Grange
Joining a growing field of Austeniana-and, particularly, Darcyiana-Grange retells Austen's Pride & Prejudice from Fitzwilliam Darcy's point of view. Her device for doing so is an imagined diary of a clever sort: Grange reproduces, word for word and comma for comma, conversations from the original novel, but shifts the perspective to reported speech in Darcy's first-person, with his commentary on the encounters. Between the reconstituted passages, the reader is treated to Darcy's ongoing reflections on Hertfordshire society, his family obligations, his sister and, most crucially, Elizabeth Bennet and her family...

Mr. Darcy's Daughters, by Elizabeth Aston
This sequel to Pride and Prejudice from first-time novelist Aston reads more like a beach book for historical fiction fans than a literary homage to Austen's masterpiece. The novel is set in 1818, when Mr. and Mrs. Darcy (nee Elizabeth Bennett) have gone on a diplomatic mission to Constantinople and left their five daughters in London with Darcy's cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam and his wife.

Mr. Darcy Presents His Bride: A Sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, by Helen Halstead
When Elizabeth Bennett marries the brooding, passionate Mr. Darcy, she is thrown into the exciting world of London society. She makes a powerful friend in the Marchioness of Englebury but the jealousy among her ladyship's circle threatens to destroy Elizabeth's happiness. Elizabeth is drawn into a powerful clique for whom intrigue is the stuff of life and rivalry the motive, and her success, it seems, can only come at the expense of good relations with her husband. This novel also continues the stories of other favorite Pride and Prejudice characters including Georgiana Darcy and Kitty Bennett, each of whom have amusing adventures of their own. Told in the language of the era and bringing Regency society vividly to life, Mr. Darcy Presents His Bride recalls Austen's theme of the necessity of individual growth in the maintainance of lasting bonds.

Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, by Linda Berdoll
This rollicking sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice was originally self-published in 1999 as The Bar Sinister. In Berdoll's wild, bawdy, and utterly enjoyable novel, the Darcys begin their married life as one of the happiest, most in-love couples imaginable. Berdoll picks up the story after their wedding, but flashes back to the days after the courtship, when Elizabeth and Darcy's passion for each other grew stronger. After a spicy wedding night, the couple finds their compatibility extends far beyond their matched wits. As Elizabeth settles into her role as mistress of a large household, her sister Jane grapples with her own, less passionate marriage to Charles Bingley. Thrown in as well are an illegitimate young man who just might be Darcy's son, a vengeful serving man who plagues the Darcys and develops an unhealthy fixation on Elizabeth, and suspicions of infidelity. Austenites who enjoy the many continuations of her novels will find much to love about this wild ride of a sequel, especially Berdoll's depiction of the enduring, strong love between Elizabeth and Darcy. Review by Kristine Huntley.

Mrs. Darcy's Dilemma: A Sequel to Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, by Diana Birchall
As the children of the Darcy's and Bingley's come of age, Mrs. Darcy finds she faces a grave dilemma.

Pemberley: a Sequel to Pride and Prejudice, by Emma Tennant
It is the Christmas season, and Elizabeth Darcy (Elizabeth Bennet of Pride and Prejudice ), now the uneasy mistress of the great estate of Pemberley, anticipates the holidays with growing trepidation. Her foolish widowed mother and two of her sisters, flighty Kitty and pedantic Mary, are soon to descend upon the household. Adding to the guest list, as well as the complications, are her husband's formidable aunt, Lady Catherine de Bourgh, and the Wickhams (the cad who eloped with Elizabeth's sister after his unsuccessful attempt to run off with her sister-in-law). Sweet-tempered Jane will also be present, but her imminent confinement is a constant reminder to Elizabeth of her own barrenness.

Pemberley By the Sea, by Abigail Reynolds
Marine biologist Cassie Boulton likes her coffee with cream and her literature with happy endings. Her favorite book is Pride & Prejudice, but Cassie has no patience when a modern-day Mr. Darcy appears in her lab. Silent and aloof, Calder Westing III doesn't seem to offer anything but a famous family name. But there is more to Calder than meets the eye, and he can't get enough of Cassie Boulton. Especially after one passionate night by the sea. But Cassie keeps her distance. Behind the veneer of scientific accomplishment, wit, and warmth, she is determined to hide secrets from her past. That means avoiding men who want to get too close, especially tempting and dangerous ones like Calder. Frustrated by Cassie's evasions, Calder tells her about his feelings the only way she'll let him - by rewriting her favorite book, with the two of them in the roles of Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet. But only Cassie can decide whether to risk her future by telling him the dangerous truth.

Pemberly's Promise, by Kara Louise
Pemberley's Promise ~ the name of the ship holds promise for those in its confines. When Elizabeth Bennet encounters Mr. Darcy on a voyage to America, their story, known by all in the Jane Austen novel, "Pride and Prejudice," is significantly altered. When Elizabeth becomes ill down in steerage and her conditions worsens, Mr. Darcy makes a very unexpected offer to help her out. If you are familiar with the Jane Austen novel, you will recognize the beloved characters and certain events that transpire, but you do not have to have read her novel to enjoy this one.

Pride and Prescience: Or, A Truth Universally Acknowledged, by Carrie Bebris
Bebris' charming mystery employs the beloved characters from Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice in a bit of sleuthing. The novel opens with a double wedding--that of Elizabeth Bennett to Fitzwilliam Darcy and Jane Bennett to Charles Bingley. It's the happiest day of Elizabeth's life, but she's a tad put out that her former rival, Caroline Bingley, has chosen this day to announce her engagement to a wealthy American landowner named Frederick Parrish. Rather than returning to Pemberley as they would like to do, Elizabeth and Fitzwilliam stay on in London until the wedding. But events conspire to keep them there longer when Caroline begins acting strangely: they discover her walking in a dangerous neighborhood, and days later she almost dies from wounds that appear to be self-inflicted. Everyone close to Caroline is baffled, and the mystery deepens when the father of a former rival for Parrish's hand is found murdered. Fans of Stephanie Barron's Jane Austen books will want to check out Bebris' series debut. Review by Kristine Huntley.

The Confession of Fitzwilliam Darcy, by Mary Street
Originally published in the U.K., Mary Street's ingenious retelling of Jane Austen's classic story now makes its U.S. debut-to the delight of the fans of Austen's comic masterpiece of divine romance. In Fitzwilliam Darcy, Austen created the ultimate romantic hero. Yet Pride and Prejudice reveals little of Darcy's innermost thoughts. Here, Street unveils the true motives and mysteries of Elizabeth Bennet's enigmatic suitor. Through Darcy's eyes we discover the reality of his relationships with his sister Georgiana, his cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam, the dastardly Wickham, his friend Bingley, and his formidable aunt, Lady Catherine. And of course, all his memorable encounters with Elizabeth, from that first view of her fine eyes to his disastrous proposal, and then to a pride and arrogance tempered by an unquenchable love.

The Darcy's Give a Ball, by Elizabeth Newark
While Jane and Lizzie plan a lavish ball at Pemberley, the Darcys second son falls in love with the Collins' daughter, first-born Juliet Darcy is almost lured into an elopement, and Georgiana's timid daughter Lucy is the new target of Miss Caroline Bingley's meddling.

The Exploits and Adventures of Miss Aletha Darcy: A Novel, by Elizabeth Aston
In this delightful new chapter in the story of the Darcy clan, taken up by Ashton (Mr. Darcy's Daughters) where Austen left off, the youngest daughter of Elizabeth Bennett and Mr. Darcy is in a pickle. Having married in haste, Alethea is now repenting bitterly, languishing under the unspeakable treatment of her horrid husband, Norris Napier. She escapes in the company of her intrepid maid, Figgins, and dressed as young men, they hare off to Europe to find Alethea's favorite and most sympathetic sister, Camilla. On the way, unbeknownst to them, they are found out by Mr. Titus Manningtree, who's off to Europe to find a Titian painting of his father's that has gone astray. Appalled by Alethea's apparent total disregard for her position and the requirements of polite society, Titus is nonetheless impressed by her courage and pluck. At first out of duty and then out of interest, he comes to her aid time and again, seeing her safe back to England. Once there, however, it is discovered that her husband was murdered, and she comes under suspicion.

The Second Mrs. Darcy, by Elizabeth Aston
Aston's latest novel (after The True Darcy Spirit) focuses on another woman in the tradition of Elizabeth Bennet, Octavia Melbury. Tall and outspoken, Octavia fails to find a husband in London and is dispatched to India, where she is to live with relatives. There, she marries Capt. Christopher Darcy, but their happy union is cut short when he dies from an insect bite. Christopher's spiteful cousin, George Warren, nabs the estate and leaves Octavia with a pittance. However, a surprise and sizable inheritance comes Octavia's way, and she travels back to England, where she keeps mum about her newfound fortune while her conniving half-sister Theodosia schemes to marry her off. Octavia takes a shine to her smart, headstrong niece, Penelope, who, in turn, fancies a man of lower stature than her mother will accept. Not so for Octavia, whose rocky repartee with Lord Sholto Rutherford matures, inevitably, into love. Meanwhile, George realizes Christopher's inheritance isn't as large as he had thought and plots to steal Octavia's fortune. Aston's villains may be one-note wicked, but the lengths to which their puerile greed sends them make for good reading.

The True Darcy Spirit: A Novel, by Elizabeth Aston
Following on the heels of Mr. Darcy's Daughters and The Exploits & Adventures of Miss Alethea Darcy, Elizabeth Aston delivers an irresistible new novel set in the world of Jane Austen.

After being disowned by her family, Cassandra Darcy -- the artistic eldest daughter of Anne de Bourgh (and granddaughter of the infamous Lady Catherine de Bourgh and Mr. Darcy's cousin in Pride and Prejudice) -- strives to make a living by painting. But struggling to succeed in bohemian London turns out to be the least of her worries! To begin with, there are the unwelcome advances of a certain Lord Usborne, and then there are the letters bequeathed to her by a friend -- highly compromising letters written by Princess Caroline that her husband, the Prince Regent, would very much like to possess. In league with Lord Usborne, the prince enlists the services of Cassandra's cousin, Horatio Darcy, who is a lawyer, to track down the missives. When Horatio's investigation leads him straight to Cassandra, he initially disapproves of her lifestyle until he finds himself utterly charmed by it -- and particularly by her. Romance may prove elusive, however, as social obstacles and the efforts of a vengeful Lord Usborne conspire to divide the two would-be lovers.

The Women of Pemberley (The Pemberley Chronicles), by Rebecca Collins
The Women of Pemberley follows the lives of five women, some from the beloved works of Jane Austen, some new from the authors imagination, into a new era of post industrial revolution England, at the start of the Victorian Age. Vast changes are in motion, as they were throughout this dynamic century.

These Three Remain: A Novel of Fitzwilliam Darcy, Gentleman by Pamela Aiden
The storied romance of Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet (they of Pride and Prejudice) reaches its conclusion in the strongest entry in an already impressive trilogy. While visiting his aunt's estate, Fitzwilliam continues alternately courting his beloved Elizabeth and trying to crimp his longing for her. ("Although the sunlight did marvelous things with her hair, chestnut curls and velvety brown eyes were not in fashion," he notes.) He finally musters his courage and, in an arrogant, bumbling way, proposes marriage. He returns to London in defeat, but realizes, after some time and distance, that her rejection has provided him with "the opportunity to become a better man." Months later, a fortuitous meeting with Elizabeth offers them the chance to renew their friendship and for Fitzwilliam to prove he has changed for the better. But just as Fitzwilliam is making headway, George Wickham, his smarmy nemesis, appears and threatens to undo everything. As ever, Aidan keeps her narrative taut and her characters conflicted. Fans of the series will not be disappointed.

Two Shall Become One: Mr. and Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy, by Sharon Lathan
"You have bewitched me body and soul...I love you and never wish to be parted from you." Thus did Mr. Darcy declare passionate love to Elizabeth Bennet in a swoon worthy moment adored by fans of the classic novel, "Pride and Prejudice." Journey beyond the final curtain; turn a fresh page to discover what happens after declarations and acceptances. Travel the road of matrimony and happily-ever-after in this romantic but realistic rendering of Regency life between two souls as they learn to become one. Beginning moments after the wedding and covering five months of marriage, this is the first in a series of novels which detail the unfolding life at Pemberley and beyond, as well as the family and friends who revolve around them. Fans of the novel and its numerous theatrical adaptations will thrill in more of Lizzy and Darcy. Those unfamiliar with the tale will delight in a message of hope and happiness as the elusive 'true love' is manifest.

Vanity and Vexation: A Novel of Pride and Prejudice, by Kate Fenton
What happens when the BBC descends on the quiet North Yorkshire town of Maltstone to make a new version of Pride and Prejudice? For one thing, it upends the life of writer Nick Bevan, who's holed up in Maltstone to work on a novel. In this gender-bending retelling of Jane Austen's classic, Nick and his neighbor and best friend John stand in for Elizabeth Bennett and her sister, Jane, while the parts of Darcy and Mr. Bingley are taken by Mary Dance, the film's formidable director, and Candia Bingham, the leading lady. Both romances are beset with difficulties similar to the ones Austen devised. Is the romance between John and Candia a mere fling? Will Nick and Mary overcome their initial dislike and give in to mutual attraction? It's fun to look for parallels with the original, but though Fenton borrows freely from Austen's plot, she also adds her own twists. The result is brisk and entertaining, a good choice for readers looking for something clever, with an English accent. Review by Mary Ellen Quinn.

Without Reserve: A Pride and Prejudice Variation, by Abigail Reynolds
What would have happened if Fitzwilliam Darcy faced a true rival for Elizabeth Bennet's affections? In a return to the world of Jane Austen, the plot of Pride & Prejudice takes a different turn when Elizabeth accepts the proposal of a childhood friend before she meets Darcy again. When their paths finally cross, Darcy must decide what he is willing to do to win the woman he loves. A heartwarming conclusion to this lively tale brings satisfaction to all of Austen's beloved characters. THE PEMBERLEY VARIATIONS by Abigail Reynolds is a series of novels exploring the roads not taken in Pride & Prejudice.
