Bless Your Beautiful Hide

Wonderful, Wonderful Day

When You're In Love

Goin' Courting

June Bride

Sobbin' Women

Lonesome Polecat

Spring, Spring, Spring

When You're In Love

Choreography was done by Michael Kidd.
He was known for very unusual choreography.
There were several dance numbers in this film that use axes! With 7 men all singing and dancing and swinging axes around it's a wonder no one was killed on set.

I am looking forward to see Janie at the TCM Clasic Film Festival this coming April 2011

Jane and I exchanged autographs when I was a LA Dodger back in 1958, I still have mine!
I have all your movies and play them often.
    Take Care.

PS: I was there at the Hollywood bowl last Sept. You sang three of my favorites, and you look great.

I was fortunate enough to meet Mrs. Powell in Oklahoma City after a performance and I was awe struck by her grace and beauty. I admire her greatly, and wish to thank her for the countless hours of enjoyment I have received because of her great talent. She carries herself with quiet grace and beauty the emminates from within and without.

I really loved "Nancy Goes to Rio". I enjoyed seeing Ms. Powell sing "Magic is the Moonlight". But I also enjoyed hearing her sing in "Rich, Young and Pretty" and "Royal Wedding". Her comedic routine while singing "How Could You believe Me When I Said I Loved You When You Know I've Been a Liar All My Life" was fantastic!

I have been a great admirer of Jane Powell since I was nine years old and her this beautiful voice singing in the movie "Song of the Open Road" The year was 1963, about 20 years after the movie was first made. I see that someone in these commentaries has met her. I wish I could. I just found on youtube a small segment of "Holiday in Mexico". I have been watching it about every night for the last week just so I could see this beautiful 17 year old sing "Ave Maria". I have seen most of her movies. I can't get enough of her and that voice!

I love all Jane's movies. I have met her: a charming, gracious, delightful lady. LADY with a Capital L! When she sings and dances and entrances with her charm, how can one pick a favorite?

Jane Powell has been my favorite singer for over 60 years. I am soon to be 74 and have loved her voice and performances since I was about 14. I made a scrapbook of nothing but Jane Powell back in the late forties and early fifties. I spent Saturday mornings going thru all the movie magazines of the day and cutting out anything to do with Jane Powell and pasting the item in my scrapbook. It was about eight inches thick by the time I was finished. When I married the book stayed with my familiy's possessions and was lost in flood that occurred in their garage in Laguna Beach, CA in the 60's. I was heartbroken, I had planned on giving it to Ms. Powell if I were ever to see her perform in person. I had seen her perform earlier at the Hollywood Bowl, but had not finished making the scrapbook at that time. I am so happy to see that she is doing well and wish to send her my best wishes for a continued happy and healthy life. P.S. I sang when I was younger and listened to her records over and over again learning the lyrics from them if there was no sheet music for it in the music stores. I performed a couple of her songs on TV back in the early 50's. One was "The Italian Street Song". I loved that one. My very, very best to you Jane Powell, you will always be my hero!
