Relieve Stress Using Your Own Japanese Garden Design

Living in today's world is a stressful thing, it comes at you from all directions. And finding ways to relieve that stress is a chore in itself. There are many ways to deal with stress and I found mine in the form of a Japanese garden. I took a basic Japanese garden design, scaled it down to fit my backyard area and now I have a quiet place to slip away and relax.

A Few Fundamentals to Japanese Garden Design

One of the most important principles is to always keep nature in your mindset. Strive to keep a natural balance in the design of your Japanese garden, keep things in proportion because what looks good in a large yard doesn't look right in a smaller one. In other words don't try to create something that nature itself couldn't create.

Japanese Garden Design: Where To Begin!

A good place to begin is with a look at your yard, take a look at the lay of the land. Is it long and hilly, flat or something in between. Then ask yourself which style of Japanese garden best matches your area.

Which Japanese Garden Design Is For You?

Which style of Japanese garden you will design? Well that is a good question, because you have five different styles to choose from.

  • Kanshoh-style which is viewed from your residence

  • Tea Garden

  • Pond Garden

  • Dry landscape style like a Zen rock garden

  • Strolling garden

Now if you are looking for a quiet spot to relax, let go and melt stress away.
You may want to think about your own Japanese Garden Design.
