Its leaves start out brick red to purple red, with new leaves that bloom in the spring only being bright red with no purple. As summer approaches, the middle of the leaves turn to green, leaving only a trace of red on the outside. Finally, in the fall, the tiny leaves change to orange, yellow, and red.
