Who is Jason Mercier

Jason Mercier is a 21 year old American professional poker player. He won the largest live poker tournament ever held in Italy, which was an EPT event in San Remo. Mercier has cashed out, four times at the WSOP in one year.

Jason Mercier of Fort Lauderdale, Florida first learned poker while in high school. Once he graduated, he went to college to become a math teacher, but his success in poker changed his career path. His first major tournament cash came at the European Poker Tour San Remo main event. He didn't just cash, he won. Mercier took home $1.3 million. He followed that with three cashes at the 2008 World Series of Poker. At the EPT Barcelona Open main event, he finished sixth for another $321,000. Mercier continued his tear through Europe and made a final table at the WSOPE pot-limit Omaha event, and then won the EPT London High-Roller Showdown for $905,000.
