Overview

Aspose.Slides for Java is a non-graphical PowerPoint® management component that enables Java applications to read and write PowerPoint documents without utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint. Aspose.Slides for Java is the first and only Java component that provides the functionality to manage PowerPoint documents. As with all Aspose components, Aspose.Slides for Java is written in pure Java, well priced and lightening fast.


Extended File Format Support

Aspose.Slides for Java allows you to work on a variety of different file formats. All three formats for MS PowerPoint 2003 are supported i.e. PowerPoint Presentation (PPT), PowerPoint Template (POT) and PowerPoint Slideshow (PPS). Aspose.Slides for Java also supports three versions of these file formats, namely, MS PowerPoint 97 / 2000 / 2002. In addition, Aspose.Slides for Java now supports all of the MS PowerPoint 2007 file formats like PPTX, POTX and PPSX. However, the inter conversion between the file formats of MS PowerPoint 2007 and former mentioned versions of MS PowerPoint is currently unavailable. Aspose.Slides for Java also allows you to save your presentation in PDF format without utilizing any other component. You can also convert your presentation to individual images allowing for more flexibility and convenience.


Versatile Slide Processing

Aspose.Slides for Java gives you the power to process your presentation in ways you never knew were possible. You can now easily Create, Access, Copy, Clone, Edit and Delete slides in your presentation. You can also add Transitions, Notes as well as set Name, Background and Master. In addition to this, you have the option of previewing the slides, saving them as images or exporting them to SVG format.

Multitude of Graphics and Multimedia Features

With Aspose.Slides for Java you can easily create or manage shapes like Lines, Rectangles, Ellipses and Polylines etc. You have the option of filling shapes with different styles such as Solid, Gradient, Pattern, Texture & Picture etc. Aspose.Slides for Java offers 48 pre-defined Patterns and 24 Textures. In addition to this, you can read, modify or add new Animation Effects to slides and shapes as well as add new Pictures, Picture Bullets, Audio Frames and Video Frames to the presentations or manage the existing ones. Aspose.Slides for Java also allows access to the OLE objects embedded within a presentation.

Comprehensive Support for Table and Text

Tables can be easily and conveniently created and modified using Aspose.Slides for Java. You have the power of formatting, resizing and accessing the cells of the tables as well adding and deleting rows and columns. In addition to this, you have complete control of how your text is rendered with in you presentation. You can easily get/set text in Text Placeholders & Text Frames, change the text formatting, add new or manage the existing Fonts, add new Text Frames to almost any type of Shapes, access and modify the margins, text wrapping and indentations.

What's New in this Release?

The long awaited version of Aspose.Slides for Java (2.5.0) has been released. This maintenance release includes resolution for many regression issues as well as exceptions being thrown during presentations access, PDFs generations and slide cloning for both PPT and PPTX. The bullets rendering issue have been remedied and the compatibility support for working with PowerPoint 2010 presentations has also been enhanced. The compulsion of using Aspose.Metafiles for Java has also been eradicated in this release and now, one will only need to add reference to Aspose.Metafiles for Java, if a presentation has WMF or EMF file contents. The support feature for getting the product version information and setting custom documents properties for the presentations have also been introduced in this new release. This release includes plenty improved features as listed below

JDK 1.5, Picture Bullets & Enhanced Table Rendering Support in PPTX

Aspose.Slides for Java 2.9.0 is Released!

The long awaited version of Aspose.Slides for Java (2.9.0) has been released. This release is compliant with JDK 1.5 and adds support for picture bullets in PPTX presentations. However, this is mainly a maintenance release that fixes a number of different issues. We have resolved issues to do with presentation access, as well as table rendering issues and issues with missing border lines relating to saved and cloned presentations. The issue of table borders failing to render in saved or cloned presentation has also been resolved in this hotfix. This release includes plenty improved features and also fixes for following issues.

- NullPointerException on cloning slide
- UnknownFileFormat on accessing the presentation
- Table lines disappears on saving PPT
