Our Favorite Cocktail Party Music

When you host a retro cocktail party, you need the right music. Our favorite is anything Pink Martini. We can't get enough of their latest CD "Hey Eugene". Jaxdeco was fortunate to see Pink Martini perform in person in a small venue at the Cleveland Museum of Art. We weren't disappointed.

And who can resist that sultry Cuban beat on a hot summer night? We sure can't, which why we like to salsa to The Afro Cuban All Stars, with a martini in our hand of course!

Our Favorite Modern Vacations!

PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA

We love Palm Springs. Its chock full of Mid-Century Modern homes, fine dining and most importantly lots of modern shopping. Our favorite hotels are The Movie Colony Hotel and The Tropics Caliente. The Movie Colony offers ultimate luxury with free poolside Peach Martinis at Happy Hour. The Tropics offers a really cool tiki motif, fabulous gardens and a great pool for a reasonable rate.

Our favorite shops are the 111 Antique Mall, a totally MCM antique mall and Palm Springs Consignment.

Our favorite dinner splurge is Johannes Cosmopolitan Cuisine located at 196 South Indian Canyon. They feature gourmet food in an eclectic atmosphere. Our favorite cheap meal is Pollo Loco, which has the best roasted chicken we've ever tasted!

And don't miss the Palm Springs Modernism Show held every February at the Convention Center. The next show is February 15-17, 2008.
