Entertainment Along the Red Line

Near the Woodley Park, Zoo, and Adams Morgan Stop

National Zoo
The National Zoo is right between the Woodley Park/Adams Morgan stop and the Cleveland Park stop. The walk from Cleveland Park to the Zoo is downhill, however, unlike the walk in the other direction.

Near the Farragut North stop

National Geographic Museum at Explorers Hall
The National Geographic Museum is in the Explorers Hall in Washington, D.C. This is located within a block or so of the Farragut North Station. This lesser-known museum is free and features several rotating exhibits at any given time.

Japan Information and Culture Center of Washington D.C. - Embassy of Japan
The Japan Information and Culture Center, Embassy of Japan, in Washington DC, is the official cultural center of the Japanese Government in the United States of America. We handle cultural inquiries from the American public, host Japan-related exhibitions, show Japanese films, and invite guest speakers.

Ford's Theatre and Museum
Take a tour of the theater where Lincoln was assassinated.

Near the Gallery Place and Chinatown stop

International Spy Museum
This privately owned (and therefore slightly pricey to visit) museum is one block west of the Chinatown/Gallery Place stop. This is extremely popular museum with tourists, so it is well worth the effort to buy tickets in advance.

Red Line Restaurant Reviews

Mon Ami Gabi
An affordable French restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland.
Faryab
A terrific, quiet Afghan restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland.
Java Green
An eco-friendly restaurant with lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Located near the Farragut North and Dupont Circle stops.

Great destination for a pit stop on the way to D.C. I love Bethesda its a really great community. During the Christmas holiday season it sort of reminds me of my hometown, New York City, USA.

Now if I could only pronounce your cat's name...
