As Seth Godin puts it, successful marketers tell a story and therein lies the appeal of marketing to me.  The best brands seem to practice applied storytelling, they take a consumer insight and and then develop a story that resonates with the customer and creates an appeal that sells a product and grows a business.  As a creative-type with a practical bent that concept of "applied storytelling" is what drives my passion for marketing and branding.
