Jeff Bezos at a Glance
Jeffrey Preston Bezos (born January 12, 1964) is the American founder, president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of Amazon.com. Bezos, a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Princeton University, worked as a financial analyst for D. E. Shaw & Co. before founding Amazon in 1994. He was named Time magazine's Person of the Year in 1999. "Person of the Year" profile, Time In 2008, he was selected by U.S. News & World Report as one of America's Best Leaders.

Bezos quit his IT job to sell books online. I can tell you that -- in the early days at least -- Amazon.com would fall all over itself thanking you for bug reports. Contrast that to some "sideline" websites where the hired help reacts with defensiveness, denial, and derision. That's one reason they are where they are today. (I know that's an unclear antecedent, but it works either way.)

after seeing jeff bezos talk about the kindle on charlie rose i immediately purchased one...i have multiple sclerosis so reading became increasingly difficult...my kindle solved the problem...since my background is in graphic arts i couldn't help noticing and correcting a few problems with the user's guide, version 1.1...then i ran a hard copy, numbered the pages, including the table of contents, and had three copies made and stapled...two of my sisters ordered kindles as a result of my raves.
