Who is Why We LOVE Jensen Ackles

Despite the insistence of Eric Kripke that Supernatural would only be 5 seasons long, CW has renewed for a sixth season. This has fans in a confusion . . . Kripke will still be involved but is stepping down from his position as director. Instead, Sera Gamble, currently the Supervising Producer, will be taking his place.

Considering the fact that the plot has the storyline ending this season, it will be interesting to see where things go next season!

Ten Inch Hero is a very interesting film and certainly worth watching! You would assume, from the brooding, tattooed and mascaraed photos of Jensen`s character, Priestly, that he`s a gloomy sort. Not so at all. In fact, Jensen was cracking jokes all through the movie that kept me laughing my head off.

The story isn`t really about Priestly, though he is a main character. The actual movie focuses on Piper, a young woman who has moved to town in hopes of catching a glimpse of her daughter who she gave up at birth when she was just 15. It`s a fascinating story chock full of colorful characters, including Trucker, their devil-may-care boss who is in love with the witch next door, Tish, a co-worker who takes a customer home every night and Jen, the virgin in love with an online buddy named Fuzzy22.

Then of course, there`s Priestly. Who walks into the little sandwich shop where they all work with a new hair color each day, wears makeup on a regular basis and a kilt sometimes, who turns a shopping trip for tampons into a military maneuver and somehow still manages to be sexy anyway. Seriously, even if you aren`t interested in guys with mascara, Jensen Ackles pulls it off.

If you get a chance to watch Ten Inch Hero, do it. Jensen is great, but the storyline is also great and since there`s nothing worse than dragging through a movie just to see the hunk you love, that`s a terrific combination.

I always enjoy learning about my favorite stars and Jensen is no exception. I scoured the internet to find interesting tidbits to share with you. (Just a note, I did find these online, so their accuracy is semi-debatable. Should Jensen like to set me straight, I´d be more than happy to alter this page ;) )Here they are:

1. He was a child model.

2. He was stung by a bee during the first season of Supernatural while shooting the "Bugs" episode. Reportedly in the butt. Which really must have HURT! (note: a slice of onion takes the bite out of beestings!)

3. His dad is also an actor, just not quite as famous as his son! They acted together in the movie "Devour". I saw the movie, of course, but didn´t know that his dad was in it, so I can´t tell you much more than that!

4. Jensen might look short next to Jared Padelecki, but he is actually 6 foot 1"! (Jared is something like 6´ 5") Those boys are tall! But, really if you have a nasty vampire or something after you, are you going to want to be protected by some little shrimp? I didn´t think so!

5. Apparently he hates his hair. Probably the main reason it's always so short.

6. Ok, this one, I am pretty sure is true: Jensen doesn´t like getting stuck in traffic. Hmmm, have you ever met someone who does? Now if he loved being stuck in traffic, THAT would be noteworthy!

7. If he had the choice, he´d live in the mountains on a ranch in Colorado.

8. I saw him on an interview and he said isn´t afraid on the set. Why would he be? I´m sure he´s old enough to realize that monsters aren´t real, c´mon people!

9. One of his favorite foods is sushi . . . though other sources claim it's steak. Either way, he eats.

10. Apparently our boy would like to be able to fly, if he had a free wish. Good one. It would come in handy for those long commutes between LA and Vancouver (my old stomping grounds, by the way!)

There`s just something about the bad boy image that lures us. Jensen Ackle`s as Dean Winchester is the perfect example of this . . . he`s a womanizer, a hard ass, he makes rude comments and yet, girls fall for him left, right, and center!

It could have something to do with Dean`s unscathed face (despite car accidents and run ins with too many monsters), his eagerness to blow things away or maybe those glimpses of the insecurity that peek through the facade of tough guy from time to time. Or maybe every girl just longs for a man who exchanges insults with his brother as if he were five still.

Supernatural has quite the female following and while there are certainly Sam fanatics, it seems that Dean is getting most of the attention. For the first three seasons of Supernatural, Dean Winchester was the strong one, the guy who made everything right and who most frequently rescued the damsel in distress. Now, he`s got some competition . . . Sam grew up while Dean was in Hell and we are now starting to see some major changes in the dynamics of this brotherly relationship!

Suddenly, Dean is cracking more often . . . though I can`t say that`s a bad thing, it makes him more endearing. But now we`re seeing a whole new side of Sam . . . a tougher, harder little brother. And that`s appealing, too! It`s going to be interesting to see who wins the most hearts in the end.

In case you hadn`t heard, Jensen Ackles starred as Tom Hanniger in My Bloody Valentine 3D. It was released January 23, 2009.

While we`d love to see Jensen in just about any movie, this one sounds particularly near his genre. The movie is based loosely on the 1981 flick of the same name (minus the 3D) and sounds like a typical slasher film.

Jensen`s character, Tom, returns to the small town where he once caused an accident in a mine that resulted in the deaths of 5 men. The only survivor was in a coma for a year before waking hell bent on revenge and slaughtering 22 people. Tom narrowly escaped being one of the revenge victims. No sooner did he get out of the mine where he and so many others had died then he ran away from town.

Now Tom is back in town, discovering that his ex-girlfriend is now married to his best friend. Oh, and he happens to be just in time for a reenactment of the murders from a decade back! But who's behind the murders? The townspeople blame Tom, he blames his once best friend. In the end . . . well, you'll just have to watch the movie to find out.

Jensen Ackles isn`t at all like his co-star, Jared who seems to pop up in movies left, right and center. Nope, Jensen seems to prefer the television circuit. That doesn`t mean he hasn`t made movies, though.

In fact, Jensen was in the horror flick Devour, his first movie, with his dad, Alan. I`ve seen this movie a couple of times now and it`s pretty good. A little freaky, but good.

But lately, our hunky Supernatural hero has been doing some film work . . . but not where we can see it! He`s appeared as a punk in Ten Inch Hero, an indie film that only a select few have seen and in 2004, he was in the Plight of Clownana, a short movie that seems virtually impossible to find!

So, until Jensen starts doing more mainstream stuff, our best bet is to watch him as Dean on Supernatural.

One of my favorite things to do with actors is to check out their pasts. Jensen`s is a fun one. Did you know he used to be on Wishbone? As in the magic dog Wishbone? :D I`ve added a clip below from the show, he`s positively adorable as the teenage neighbor.

Then, of course, you have Days of Our Lives, where Jensen Ackles was a hot young stud . . . uh, did he ever LEAVE that character? Again, clips below so you can drool even more!
