Jerry appeared to me a few days after his death. A couple of Deadhead friends and I went to my favorite spot in the redwoods to have our own little ceremony. We didn't know exactly what we were going to do, but we had to do something to say goodbye. We sat on the small spot of land between Bull Creek and the south fork of the Eel River, surrounded by giant redwoods. We lit some incense and held hands and meditated for a few minutes. Then all of a sudden Jerry was there in my mind. He had on a green hospital-like shirt and I could see the drops of sweat on his arms, and he just hugged me. This would be a great tale to make up, but I'm not making it up or creating it. It would never occur to me to imagine that Jerry would come to me. I've been a faithful Deadhead since 1970, and I never even had a backstage pass. This really happened. I was so grateful because I was able to stand his dying after that; I knew he was okay and eternal. It's the holiest thing that ever happend to me. The only way I can beg

I met Jerry Garcia in a dream in 2005. I had come down with an infectious disease, and was not doing well. In my dream Jerry told me he was going to try to get me better. He had a young man's body but sported his famous gray hair in a ponytail. Other people in the dream followed his direction. There was a gigantic sound system. Some people climbed ladders up it etc. On his command a loud sound was emitted from the sound system. The next day a profusion of roses bloomed in my yard, after they had expired more roses bloomed. This was unexpected since I am not much of a gardener and am lucky to get just a few rose blooms each year. Since that time I have felt much better and have been able to carry on my life nearly as well as I did before coming down with the infectious disease. One of Jerry's missions now may be to use sound to heal us.
