Jon's Presidential Nomination
New Jersey's own Jon Bon Jovi was recently nominated by President Obama to be a part of a committee that will focus on volunteer efforts and community. Although Bon Jovi was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they were not chosen. But, Bon Jovi does have the distinction of being earning the most in 2010 through their touring and holds the title of highest earning touring entertainers.

The boys from Jersey give back
All the members of Bon Jovi give back to the community. Not only are they successful rock stars who have proved they have staying power but they care about people and give back through projects like building homes in the areas still suffering from Hurricane Katrina, re-development in Philadelphia and many other worthy causes.
Richie Sambora remembers where he came from. He recently held a fundraiser for a fellow Woodbridge High School student whose family has been faced with huge medical expenses due to her medical illness. He raised money for her home to be made handicap accessible so this girl could go home again. He also donated money to his alma matter for improvements to the high school weight room where he used to work out when he was a member of the high school basketball team. A street leading to the high school was renamed "Richie Sambora Way" in his honor!

Richie Sambora gives back
Richie Sambora was honored by his alma mater, Woodbridge High School in Woodbridge, New Jersey, with the re-naming of a street entering the high school. "Richie Sambora Way" was dedicated when Richie visited the school and gifted a new workout room. He was also there because of his "You Can Go Home" charity to help raise money for a WHS student to update her home to accomodate her wheelchair which she needs due to an illness.
