Jesse Boland. . . Because it's Officially My Name

Hey everybody, not that I think millions of people are going to flock to this site to figure out just what makes Jesse Boland tick. I guess this just shows how important it is to have control over the content your name is associated with.

Scary world we live in where you need to control your name. But when you are in business on the Internet. You are defined by your words and actions.

So here's my truth flag, firmly planted into the fertile soil of Squidoo.

If you'd like more information about me and how I've turned my passions into a full-time business please check out my page on Jesse Boland's Business Secrets

Who is Jesse Boland and What Makes Him Tick

Talking in Third Person About Yourself is a Little Weird

I'm almost 32 years old, and I can't believe life is flying by so quickly.

I'm a writer and business owner living in the Pacific Northwest.

I live in Northern Idaho with my girlfriend, Jennifer, and my son, Shea.

We're all big animal lovers. . . we have two dogs and two cats-all of them have funny names, like Dora Belle and Ace (the dogs), Pablo Diablo and Stanley Kowalski (the cats).

I'm a former career firefighter. (That's me standing on a 70" diameter ((a little bit bigger around than your car is wide)) tree I had to fall on a fire in Central Idaho)

I gave firefighting up in 2005: when I realized I no longer liked the job, my body had aches and pains on top of aches and pains, and that I wanted to be home full-time to be a parent.

I'd spent an entire decade living, working, and sleeping in the dirt and I really didn't have a whole lot to show for it, other than a bad back and arthritic elbows (I'm still too young for those. . . well, maybe not so young anymore)

So I quit to persue other interests. . .

I thought about law school, took the LSAT and realized I didn't have the desire to hang out with the "future lawyers of America" they're kind of upity and stuck on themselves. Though I did well on the test.

So I tried sales (selling lawn care, you could say I was a poop salesman) and realized I didn't like cold-calling and being pushy, though the money selling poop was pretty good.

So I quit to persue other interests. . . hey this is getting redundant.

That was about the point I realized that the only time I was really happy working was when I was working on my own projects - for myself.

I like being my own person, being "my own boss" to use the overworn phrase. . .

I guess I just really have always had the desire to work for myself.

So, for the last several years, I've focused on my self-education, reading, writing, and learning the nuts-and-bolts of building a real business on the Internet, that pays me regardless of whether I'm working or not (Usually I am).

I guess you can say I've been bit by the "entreprenurial" spirit. I'm very independent so there are times when employers and I don't see eye-to-eye.

What Makes Jesse Boland Tick - At a Glance

Internet marketing, also referred to as i-marketing, web marketing, online marketing, or eMarketing, is the marketing of products or services over the Internet.

The Internet has brought media to a global audience. The interactive nature of Internet marketing in terms of providing instant response and eliciting responses, is a unique quality of the medium. Internet marketing is sometimes considered to have a broader scope because it not only refers to the Internet, e-mail, and wireless media, but it includes management of digital customer data and electronic customer relationship management (ECRM) systems.

Internet marketing ties together creative and technical aspects of the Internet, including: design, development, advertising, and sales.

Internet marketing also refers to the placement of media along different stages of the customer engagement cycle through search engine marketing (SEM), search engine optimization (SEO), banner ads on specific websites, e-mail marketing, and Web 2.0 strategies. In 2008 The New York Times, working with comScore, published an initial estimate to quantify the user data collected by large Internet-based companies. Counting four types of interactions with company websites in addition to the hits from advertisements served from advertising networks, the authors found the potential for collecting data upward of 2,500 times on average per user per month. in

This is very nice, Jesse. My oldest son's name is Jesse, he's 34. Matter a fact he just stopped by a bit ago to pay me for babysitting his daughter, my pal. I need to do a Squidoo page about me yet. I'm still learning to focus, been trying to get to Giant Squid, should know by Monday. But, a little bird told JaguarJulie, that I'm in! I like little birds. 5*****
