Is this a biased poll?
There has been some debate in the comments about the possibility of this poll being biased in that many jewelry designers have taken the poll. Are we getting a true reading of results? What do you think?
Do you think the poll is skewed because jewelry designers have participated in the poll?

Yes, you need data only from those who are not designers.
Anita, MelodyODesigns says:
If data were collected only from non-designers I think it would probably be more accurate. Designers usually have better taste that the general population and I think would willing to spend more for handmade.
Pat says:
I would have to say yes. A more rounded result would be if non-jewelry designers and non- handmade artisans were the major participants. You know the average Jane and John Doe. People that have no idea what goes into handmade creations or jewelry designs, but they love jewelry and know what they like. This to me would tell me what the trend truly is, as far as what the average person likes, because that is who will buy my jewelry. I would prefer that the experts not determine what the trend is going to be, but I will not succeed in changing that in my lifetime.
No, jewelry designers are buyers too and have preferences as all do.
Gecko says:
While the "average" person's opinions are important, it seems that jewelry designers themselves comprise a significant percentage of buyers. Their opinions matter too, and their experience and more developed eye for design is useful to polls such as this. (Coming from a non-designer.)
dot says:
no
DebiJones says:
Nope
Bluecat says:
No, designers have a good feel for jewelry and have preferences just like anyone else.
Chantal says:
No....I am a jewelry designer. I make things that I would not necessarily wear.

- Wow, can't believe that over 8% of the people would wear more than 6 pieces of jewelry, isn't that kind of heavy.

- Yes, it made me think about what I like. It's fun to share opinions, and jewelry (as long as it isn't mass produced, boring jewelry) is a favorite topic of mine.
