We Are All Children of Abraham
That is who we are. All "people of the book", all believers in one supreme God, all students of Adam and Eve, and Noah, and Moses, and Job, and so many other prophets found in each of our scriptures.
Our religions are deeply connected through history, each of them giving the world God's message of faith, hope and love - through prophet after prophet and scripture after scripture. Our similarities far outweigh our differences, but so many of us are unaware of what we all have in common. Political and economic situations have most of us focused on reasons to blame and judge and fight each other. Our challenge, as perhaps it has always been, is to separate faith and religion from feelings and endeavors that actually originate from economic and political reasons.

People of the Book Calendar
3-in-1 Calendar
With our awesome similarities in mind, I searched for a calendar that combines the calendars from all three religions into one. Though I searched long and hard, I never found one. Finally, I decided that I should make one myself, and then share it with the world. I thought, maybe it could help us learn how much we have in common in a passive and friendly way.
So that's what I did. I published the first People of the Book Calendar in 2010 on Lulu.com.
I also started a blog. Keep track of the current date in the Jewish, Christian and Islamic calendars by following my blog at PeopleoftheBookCalendar.com. The current date in all three calendars is always displayed across the top of the posts section.
The first post was on the Jewish New Year in September, the second on the Islamic New Year in December and the third was on the Christian New Year in January. Since the first of January, I have posted about each month and holiday in each calendar as they occurred. There is also the occasional calendar-related post like: What is Midnight? and Why are There Seven Days in a Week?
There are pages about each calendar, another page showing the current year's calendar with all the Jewish and Islamic dates filled in so you can look ahead.
I've also included helpful links in the blog roll to help you learn even more about these three calendars.

This year's People of the Book Calendar is illustrated with spectacular photographs of butterflies. I found each of them on publicdomainimage.com where people donate their images to the world. Thank you so much to all the photographers responsible for capturing these beautiful butterflies.Click here to preview 2012 calendar

2010 People of the Book Calendar Chosen for Amazon.com
Lulu.com has chosen this calendar as one of the few they are promoting on Amazon.com
I can't believe it. It's my first calendar, my first project created with Lulu.com and now they've chosen to promote it on Amazon.com too. They didn't tell me why my calendar was among those chosen, but I do know that it is the only calendar of its kind available online, or anywhere that I know of. And I have looked. That's why I created this calendar. I was looking for a calendar that showed the current date for the Jewish, Christian and Islamic calendars all together, and as hard as I looked I couldn't find one. So finally, I made one. :) Future People of the Book Calendars
