Jiang Shi - Chinese Vampires!!!

Chinese Vampires!

Vampire popularity waxes and wanes. When I was in high school (don't ask when!) a friend of mine was totally into Anne Rice novels. More recently the Twilight franchise has spawned a new generation of vampire fans.
The next wave of vampire popularity shouldn't be about pale-faces, long-hair, superhuman senses or seductive party lifestyles. It should be about hopping around with arms outstretched, Taoist spells and sticky rice!
What am I talking about? Chinese Vampires of course!!!

Jiang Shi Fact Box

Important things to remember about these hopping vampires.

Chinese Vampire

  • Jiang Shi are reanimated corpses.

  • They don't want to "Eat yor braaiinsss" nor do they "Vant to sahk your blahd". They just want to absorb your life essence.

  • They don't walk. They hop.

  • They love Qing dynasty Imperial clothing.

  • To defeat them you need a Taoist priest. And little yellow pieces of paper.

  • Sticky rice can also come in handy.
