All I knew about Jill Biden before January 19th was that she had blond hair.
However we have learned that she is in fact, Dr. Jill Biden an educator who plans to continue educating now that she is Second Lady. She wanted her husband to take this job because she wants him home and wants the family to participate.

3. She has her priorities straight, knows how to work hard and enjoy life.

When Oprah asked Jill if she supported Joe's being Vice President she replied that Joe had his choice of Vice President of Secretary of State. The audience quickly caught on that that was something she shouldn't have said. Lots of laughter, embarrassment and a big kiss from her husband.
She went on to say that she wanted him as VP because if he were SoS the family would never see him as he would be all over the world.
I have seen this reported by everyone since then.

There is far too much sensationalism in the media and people are human. A slip like that is just that, a slip. We've all done it. Most good honest people will 'beat themselves' up later for it, we don't need to rub salt in the wounds. Glad she got a big kiss!

- You're so right that we hear very little about the vice-president's wife. She sounds like a great woman. I once heard Joe Biden say that he asked Jill how she could marry him when she knew how much he had loved his first wife, and that she answered that that was precisely why she was marrying him.
