Have a Peek at Jillian Michaels diet plan
This is especially true of those using the Jillian Michaels diet plan, as the successful dieters are ordinary people and have nothing to gain by promoting a particular product.
Jillian Michaels is perhaps best known in her role as a trainer on the hit TV show The Biggest Loser. Her no-nonsense attitude helped previously struggling dieters to achieve amazing results through a combination of healthy eating and exercise.
Jillian's diet plan is her own weight loss program using the same 'eat less, move more' principles, and has gone on to prove one of the most popular and successful diet plans around today.

-Yup, she sure did :)
Jillian has a proven track record
a plan is a good thing
Based on eating calorie-counted, healthy and nutritionally balanced meals along with taking regular exercise, the Jillian Michaels diet plan is a far cry from some of the fad diets with which we are bombarded on a daily basis. The starting point of the Jillian Michaels diet plan is to find out how many calories per day your body needs to function, known as your BMR. There are many BMR calculating tools on-line, which use your height, age, activity level and current weight to calculate your daily calorie requirements.
Jillian then suggests that using the provided tools, the next step is to work out how many calories per day you will expend exercising, as exercise is a key part towards attaining your goal using her program.
Once you have reached a figure, add this to your BMR calories. You have now got a figure of a certain amount of calories a day. Jillian Michaels diet plan then makes use of a well-known fact, that to lose one pound of fat, you need to have a calorie deficit of 3500 calories.
Jillian Michaels a system that works
Using her tools, you will work out how many calories you can take in per day to lose weight on a weekly basis. If you wish to eat more, you simply increase the amount of calorie-burning exercise you do which will give you more calories you can enjoy as food or drink. There are no banned foods although she suggests you use your calorie allowance wisely. The plan advocates eating 3-6 meals per day that are nutritionally sound such as plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits, lean meats, salads, protein-rich poultry and healthy carbs such as brown rice and whole-wheat pasta.
Jillian's diet and exercise plans are available by purchasing her books or DVD's, and also via her online diet program.
The tools available in the diet program include a weight tracker, a fitness diary, a calorie calculator, meal plans, menus and suggested exercise plans.
The Jillian Michaels diet plan makes it very clear that crash-dieting by not eating enough calories is very unhealthy and can sabotage both losing weight and keeping it off when you've lost it.
Her whole program, appears to be some very sound advice from someone with a proven track record in short Jillian and her program is refreshing for me in this over hype world of diet, fat-loss and weight loss that's mostly about just selling stuff. My advise; get with the Jillian Michaels program because she can help you but only you know for certain if she's right for you. Only after you spend some time and check her out will you'll know for yourself.

Jillian Michaels Review
feedback from real folks... with their own ideas
This is a really good workout. It's geared a little more to advanced exercisers, but the choreography is fairly basic and you will definately feel this the next day.
She may not be the best cuer, but she is certainly encouraging and motivating. This is fun and I highly recommend it. I've only done it twice so far since it's so new, but I can still feel my muscles thanking me. This is great.
I had never purchased a Jillian Michaels DVD before b/c of the hit or miss reviews. So when I heard raves about this one, I decided to give it a shot and I am so glad I did. This is an absolute butt-kicker workout. I am an intermediate/advanced exerciser (I work out 5-6 days a week) so I figured I could see what Level 1 was all about and move onto Level 2 right away.
Jillian is tough--absolutely NO rest in this workout (not even for a sip of water) but that's what makes it go by so quickly, and it makes your body change, according to Jillian. You're done before you know it--but by the end you've gotten a kick butt workout and feel like you've really done something.
This is a great workout and I find Jillian to be tough but she's pretty likeable. Be warned though: she's no-nonsense. I think it's funny when during the stretch she admits she's not flexible and struggles to reach her legs on the floor. I thought "Ha, Ha, finally something I'm better at than Jillian!" lol
If you really want to get a good workout and to jumpstart your weight loss get this DVD you will not be disappointed. It's great for those who are short on time too and want to try something new; every workout is just under 30 mins!
***Ok, if you're like me (overweight and unmotivated) and watch The Biggest Loser and wish you could be one of the contestants and have Jillian train you then you're in luck! Buy this DVD! I just received the dvd today and did the First Level today. It's been 2 and 1/2 hours since I finished and I'm still shaking and finding it hard to go up and down stairs. I can't even imagine what she puts those poor contestants through..LOL!
I have knee pains and feet pains and usually just walk at 3mph on my treadmill. Well, suffice to say I'm not seeing any weight loss. And let me be honest the real reason I have knee and feet problems is because I weigh too much. So I did the full on jumping jacks..no modified jumping jacks in this workout...Jillian tells you straight, she has 400lb people doing full jumping jacks, you can too! And she was right. I sure as heck can't really do the push ups but I'm sure that I will be able to eventually if I keep doing this dvd everyday for 20 minutes.
And she's right, you can't do a workout for 20 minutes and expect it to be easy...you want easy, don't get this dvd. You want to sweat and really workout get this dvd!
I'm 5'4'' and 168 lbs. I will let you know my progress in my comments as time goes on. Good luck to everyone!
WOW! This video is amazing! I am a mother of 4 children, all one year apart. Despite not being back in my prime form, I am very athletic: I run, roller blade, take workout classes at the Y, do workout videos (Turbo, Tae Bo) in my basement. However, this video is challenging, fun, 20 minutes of constant movement and extremely effective...and that is only the first level! I have not made it beyond the first level, as there are three total levels. I was sore for days after my first time through Level 1! I can now pop in the video and immediately feel results. My goal is to do the workout daily, reaching Level 3 eventually and completing 30 straight days.

Notes on master your metabolism
listen to what folks are saying about Jillianss book on mastering your metabolism...
I bought three copies of her book. I'm using it as my latest up-to-date reference on taking care of my physical self. I gave away two copies to people who will use it the same way.
This book is informative, well-researched, and well-written: it reads less like a science, nutrition, diet or lifestyle book and more like part-biography, part cautionary tale. Jillian recounts, in vivid language, her own struggles with weight and food and how she put her own body through the wringer in order to stay thin, and uses that story as the springboard for a wealth of information about all the things in our culture that are sabotaging our efforts to drop weight and get healthy. This is not simply a diet book: it is a manual for better understanding how hormones, metabolism and weight control WORK, and how the typical American diet--and the American "food" industry--is wrecking our health.
Michaels is very opinionated in her prose: she does not make the argument that there are "no bad foods" or that one can have "everything in moderation." She argues, forcefully and persuasively, that we must eliminate processed foods from our diet, even some processed foods that are typically considered healthy (i.e. soy bars and soy milk), go back to eating whole foods and above all, eat organic as much as possible.
I found this book to be useful in a lot of ways; that being said, I did not follow the included eating plan in it, and I think Michaels' recommendations occasionally border on the unrealistic. Ultimately I think anyone can benefit, though, from the overall information presented about hormones and how they affect and indeed, control weight loss and weight gain, and from the information about how to incorporate more and more whole foods into the diet, even if those whole foods are not totally organic (because let's face it, organic is not affordable or even always available for all Americans).
I have to say that Jillian Michael's latest book is as much a success as she is! The book is packed with tons of great info that is backed in reliable research. Master Your Metabolism has readable info and very doable approaches to a very healthy fit lifestyle for LIFE!
she makes some real sense to me, I'm not thrilled with some of her suggestions but she is right.

Whether or not you need to lose weight this book has incredible information about the hormone link and how our bodies function. Jillian is really on top of some breakthrough knowledge about weight and health issues. \. I don't get to see The Biggest Loser often, but I find it inspiring and compassionate. My heart goes out to those people. Jillian you are changing lives for the better!

I like this book and I'm glad I bought it, but the Kindle version has significant content that is not readable. The tables are too small, and there are a lot of tables with information you really want to read. Increasing the font size does not help. Very frustrating.

very informative, and educational, having tried every diet out there I am already seeing results with this book.
This book is just what I wanted. I am more interested in the physiology of what is happening in my body and this satisfied that craving. I want to always know why something is happening in my body and this hit the target every time!
I have read it through once, marked it up with underlines and all, told every one about it, then I started reading it again like a textbook and taking notes to drive the information even further in.
I have so far lost 12 lbs with the diet she gives and an exercise regimen.
Thank you Jillian!!
The key to lasting weight loss
"The Biggest Loser"'s Jillian Michaels tells you how to stay on course.
Use a journal to help you deal with negative thoughts.
"Fitness is an empowerment tool," says Jillian, author of, most recently, "Master Your Metabolism." "It gives you knowledge, power, understanding and strength, and being strong physically transcends into every facet of your life."
After working with more than 150 people on The Biggest Loser alone, the trainer, 35, has seen what it takes to truly make a commitment to change. The key to lasting weight loss? "The one [thing] I see with people who stay the course and keep the weight off is they are willing to explore their demons, and they continue to deal with their issues," she says. "Don't run from your problems, because then they grow larger. Examine your issues and see where you can be proactive and change your attitude."
A good place to start is with a journal. Write down any negative thoughts you have about yourself and why you haven't been able to achieve your goals. Learn to let go of these thoughts and create positive ones in their place; remind yourself every day that you are worth the effort. "We're all a work in progress," Michaels adds. "Embrace where you are now and move forward from there."
