Jimi Hendrix had a unique sound that took some getting used to in the United States. His edgy sound was a combination of blues and jazz with a funk driven rhythm. He combined this with a touch of high-pitched psychedelic sounds that were created by his guitar jam session improvisations.

These tactics were new and questionable on their own, but The Jimi Hendrix Experience included a dramatic stage performance that brought him wide exposure and recognition.

This is why Jimi Hendrix is known world wide as one of the greatest guitar players and most influential musicians in the history of rock music.

Out of all the Jimi Hendrix music I have purchased, there is only one complaint. Everyone has their favorite songs, and the ones that overlap become greatest hits. Out of the four disks on the greatest hits box set, my favorite Jimi Hendrix song is not included.

Castles Made of Sand is my favorite song from his most famous album, Axis Bold as Love. This album I own as a vinyl record, it was my mom's, and I listened to it over and over again growing up. Out of all the hits that came off this record, Castles Made of Sand is still my favorite song to this day. So to all of you who own this album, take it out again and hear one that doesn't get as much recognition as it I feel it should.
