Thanks for dropping by and sharing my "Adventure."

This was extremely interesting. You have a great body of work and I'm intrigued with the little books. I see how they're a perfect learning tool while being fun. I might have to make one for myself.
  • TheLifestyleChanger Mar 2, 2012 @ 5:40 am | delete
It is wonderful to know more about you. We considered a China stint for a while and education was a definite issue. You obviously manage the two beautifully, magnificently in fact.
  • BusyMOM Dec 29, 2011 @ 11:08 pm | delete
Wow! What an incredible body of work! You inspire me.
  • ana_nimoss Sep 27, 2011 @ 4:31 am | delete
I didi try homeschooling for a while, but I ended up sending kids to expensive tutors... Homeschooling is not for everyone, but if you can do it, kids will remember it (perhaps with shudder), and you would remember it. I loved it, whether my kids did or not...
  • Pedro_Morales Sep 12, 2011 @ 12:45 pm | delete
I wish all these lenses were available some years ago. I wanted to homeschool my kids, but all the resouces I found 20 years ago were very expensive, so they went to public schools. Graduated with high honors all 4. Still, if they would have been HS I believe some situations could have been prevented. At least, for the time my grandkids come around there is a lot of material available, thanks to people like you.

Jimmie, I was just searching for some info about Shakespeare for kids. My daughter (age 8) has been asking about it and, rather than plop my huge complete works copy on her little lap, I wanted to find something she could relate to! I found your Shakespeare for kids lens and was thrilled! I can't wait to explore your other lenses! Thank you for all you do! And I love your name! Also, I run a blog for the purpose of helping myself continue to find interesting stuff for my kids. I'm putting a link to your Shakespeare lens on it and hope that's okay! If not, let me know. It's called, Nuggets of Knowledge (http://nuggetsofknowledge.typepad.com)
  • EverydayMiracles Mar 11, 2010 @ 10:07 pm | delete

Hey Jimmie--We should have asked YOU to be on the GSOM show the other day. Perhaps when we revisit the topic, you will be available??

    Great lensography!! Well done!!
  • SpellOutloud Aug 25, 2009 @ 6:02 pm | delete
Ok Jimmie, I have NO idea how you get it all done! You are all over the internet and write such great lenses/articles/lapbooking booklets and still get your homeschooling done! :) Learning so much from you! Thanks for sharing.
  • squidluck Jul 16, 2009 @ 7:00 am | delete
Oh my God, You are truly gifted like your little girl. I wish i just even a fourth of your talent.
    Very creative..This is absolutely great.
  • spirituality Jul 7, 2009 @ 11:47 am | delete
Great lens - you've been blessed by a squidoo angel :)
  • papawu May 28, 2009 @ 1:06 am | delete
All I can say is, thank God you have explained exactly what lapbooking is. I was at a loss before seeing this lens. I tried to write my opinion up above about the name Jimmie for a girl, but for some reason it didn't register. I say, I know people who have named their child after a number or a letter, so I'm all for Jimmie for a girl. At least it's an actual name rather than 6 or Z.
  • chefkeem May 13, 2009 @ 7:47 pm | delete
It's so nice to get to know you better, Jimmie. A hearty SquidAngel

Your lenses are great because they have great niche content and they are always so well organized. Does your daughter have any lenses? I am trying to get my daughters to make some pages. I think it's a great way for a person to organize their thinking (or links, like you did)
  • Natalie Sep 7, 2008 @ 1:05 am | delete

Wow Jimmie, this is fantastic! I am IMPRESSED! I only had 1 child too, but I don't think I could have tackled home-schooling! I had to make the bacon, and then cook it LOL. Very very nice to meet you and your beautiful family :)
