I liked Jimmy Buffett songs before I realized it was him singing them. Once I was hooked on his music, I was hooked in a big way. Just something about listening to "Riddles In The Sand" when it's 20 degrees outside that felt right. Heaven help me when I went to my first concert in the early 90's. Hook, line, and sinker - I was in. The tailgate, the pre-show concerts with Club Trini, and the show itself. Another Parrothead was born. And, I haven't looked back since. So, settle yourself in and have a look at the man that started this journey for me.
Jimmy Buffett At A Glance
James William "Jimmy" Buffett (born December 25 1946) is a singer, songwriter, author, businessman, and recently a movie producer best known for his "island escapism" lifestyle and music including hits such as "Margaritaville" (No. 234 on the list of "Songs of the Century"), and "Come Monday." He has a devoted base of fans known as "Parrotheads." His band is called the Coral Reefer Band.
Aside from his career in music, Buffett is also a best-selling writer and is involved in two restaurant chains named after two of his best known songs, "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and "Margaritaville." He owns the Margaritaville Cafe restaurant chain and co-developed the Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant concept with OSI Restaurant Partners (parent of Outback Steakhouse), which operates the chain under a licensing agreement with Buffett.

The CD "Songs You Know By Heart" was released in 1985. It is one of his most popular albums, and is conidered by many to be a "primer" of sorts to being folsk in to the "Parrothead Nation". Jimmy chose the best live performances of the songs from there from concerts all over the world for this great DVD. And, in addition to the cuts from the SYKBH album, you also get "Hey Good Lookin' " and "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere".
