Finding a job on the web - Jobfox is Scam-less!

Ranked #45,913 in Education, #865,607 overall

Job Hunting Online

Finding a job is on the minds of many Americans right now. There are literally thousands of job boards and employer websites, but strangely finding quality job leads can almost be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. So, I asked myself, isn't there one site that rules them all?

I recently set out to find the best website to find jobs. What I discovered was a really innovative and comprehensive site called Jobfox.com. If you've never heard of this site before, the whole idea is that it matches you with jobs based on your previous experience. Rather than reading through pages and pages of results on a typical job board (and sifting through scam job postings), you get matched with jobs in your field based on your preferences. It's 100% free to sign up, find, and apply for jobs.

Getting Started

The account set-up process is different than most sites. Instead of searching for jobs by keywords, you need to create a Jobfox account and profile. You are asked a few basic questions about the kind of job you are looking for and where you want to work, and then you complete questionnaires about your previous work experiences. The questionnaires take a few minutes to complete, and it's well worth the time spent. The resulting "suitability profile" intelligently matches your skills, experience, and preferences to the job descriptions and requirements employers have posted. Its nothing like a scam job site that takes your information and doesn't provide any value. In my case, I spent about 20 minutes setting up my account on Jobfox.

JOBS, JOBS, AND MORE JOBS

So, one of the best parts about Jobfox is that you have access to jobs from across the web. Unlike a usual job board where you are only shown jobs from employers have paid to post to that site, you are shown jobs from other major job sites like Indeed. Also, if you upgrade to their premium paid Break Through service, you get access to jobs from over 20,000 employer home pages, nearly all the major job board sites, and 30,000 jobs that are tweeted daily on Twitter. Of course that's not to say that all of those jobs will be a match for you, but it'll undoubtedly save you a lot of time. It's kind of like one-stop shopping for your job needs. There are a ton of great companies using Jobfox, so you'll see a large number of great job listings without all those scam listings that find their way into other job sites.

Results

I was on Jobfox's site for about 8 weeks. In that time, I got 5 calls for interviews. I was pretty shocked about that because I hadn't gotten that many calls in the previous year combined. Wow! The employers all contacted me directly, and I am happy to say that I finally have a new job! My only regret is that I didn't come to the site sooner.

I've seen some nasty comments on the web about Jobfox being a scam, and from my experience, everything appeared to be 100% on the level. I would highly recommend this site to anybody who is looking for work!!

For me, the Jobfox scam policy is the key differentiator between Jobfox and other job websites. If someone can keep those work from home scams away from me, I'm all about it. THANK YOU

  • Brandon Mar 4, 2011 @ 2:15 pm | delete
What is all this talk about... Where can I get more information on job searches?
  • Jennita Mar 7, 2011 @ 9:05 am | delete
The talk is about Jobfox scam policy - it blocks scam artists and fraudsters from being able to take advantage of people on the site. Its actually really awesome, and I can see why its one of the fastest growing websites on the internet in the jobs and career space. I'm thinking that maybe its a site I should try to invest in or something, idk, what do you think?

Great lense here - nice work. I'm a frequent job hunter because of the line of work I'm in (consulting), so this is a nice site to use. I've setup a profile and am awaiting my first set of matches.

I'm really interested in signing up at Jobfox. A friend told me he joined there and has really liked the matching algorithm that is matching him up with jobs that are a good fit, while ignoring everything else. It sounds like this could be a huge time saver for both employees and employers. Kudos to Jobfox for thinking outside the box!
  • Richard Mar 4, 2011 @ 10:23 am | delete
@Tim, that is interesting - I found them the same way. My friend was job hunting and got an amazing offer from a company that connected with him on Jobfox. I was so jealous, so even though I wasn't super active in looking for a new job, I signed up there. Sure enough, I was getting some great opportunities right away. I haven't left my current job yet (have some stock options I want to vest), but I think I've found my ticket when it is indeed time for me to leave. See ya later scammers

Me too Justin! I'm thinking I'll start my job search today, i'm tired of working in retail and I think its sort of a dead end job type anyway. I Just need something that will help me get my professional career started and build a resume. Can't work at The Gap forever!!!

The best place to find info on them is probably jobfox.com or their about us page. The CEO is pretty high profile (Rob McGovern), so there is a lot of information about him out there and also articles about him. And, if you look above, you can see he even wrote a book that has pretty good reviews.

The company overall is pretty impressive. They started small, but it seems like they are growing super fast. From someone who watches the online job industry as a whole, I can say that it seems like they will be one of the big players in the space in the next year or two, so its probably good to get in on it early.

Did you see they just made some big announcement today? Its called Jobfox boost - I'm not sure if it will take off or not, but it seems like a clever idea and a useful tool if you are job searching. I could see myself using this and recommending friends to recruiters when they need help. Could even make recruiters jobs easier??????

How can I find out more about them? Thank you for the information. Where are they located?
  • B Swenson Feb 9, 2011 @ 8:35 am | delete
Great information, thank you so much for sharing. I'm really interested in using Jobfox's matching technology to find a new job. Thanks so much for identifying it for us.

Thank you so much for the information! I have had friends use jobfox and they loved the experience they got. I know none of them experienced any scam! I will be using them as soon as I graduate from college.

Its helpful to keep people abreast about scams and such to avoid them. This article about jobfox scam and the lengths they go through to keep their listings clean is spot on. kudos, bravo, etc. Good job getting the word out on other sites besides their own, like Squidoo here.
  • Bindi Jan 23, 2011 @ 9:27 pm | delete
cool writeup about this company. i have never been hearing of them before but i will check it out. do they do international job listings or United States only???
  • Rich Feb 1, 2011 @ 8:22 am | delete
I just saw that this company got a lot of funding. I think people really like the idea of eHarmony for job searching.... the investors definitely like it! It really is ridiculous how many false and fraudulent listings there are on other sites. You almost have to filter out anything that has "work from home" because that seems to be the magic words for the scam job listings.

I just signed up with Jobfox, so far so good! My resume is currently being reviewed, and i'm looking for some help with it. that would definitely be helpful
