Breast Cancer Walkers Rock!

It was an awesome time, as usual.
The San Diego 3-Day raised over 11 million dollars this year.
Team Hula Hooters was outstanding and awe-inspiring as we walked for SARAH, our teammate and friend. Starting in Del Mar and ending at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres, 60 miles went by like a blink! (ha! not for the walkers)
It was another year of meeting new friends, drawing closer to old friends, and pushing ourselves to the limit.

EXAMINE YOURSELF!
The Breast Self-Examination is your first line of defense in fighting Breast Cancer! The chances of survival are improved greatly with early detection. And the chances of early detection are far greater if you are checking yourself regularly!
Nobody knows what you look and feel like better than you. Don't be afraid that you don't know what you are doing. Just EXAMINE YOURSELF! Look at yourself in a mirror. Feel around your breast area, all the way under your arms. Do this regularly and you will become familiar with YOU. It will be easier to detect something "out of place", such as a lump, if you know what you usually feel like.

Well, Everybody...The San Diego 3 Day is over! This year's walk took walkers from Del Mar to Torrey Pines, Mission Bay to Hillcrest and more. Beautiful scenery, great friends and awesome stories of courage and hope. The walkers camped out at Crowne Point in pup tents and some say it felt like a giant slumber party! I personally was excited to see all the men who walked this year! Way to go guys for stepping up. Breast Cancer affects everyone.

My personal favorite moment of the walk: When the San Jose Police joined Team Hula Hooter's Roadiemobile Dance Stop and the awesome dance party that soon followed! Even the Medical Van Crew jumped out and got involved!
Talk about boosting morale!

Thank you for all who participated. This year's walk in San Diego raised over $13 Million Dollars! If you missed it, make plans to be there for next years walk.
