What is Public Relations?

Public Relations is persuasive communication through indirect means. PR involves promoting a favorable relationships with the public and enhancing perceptions of trust between an organization, the public and the media.

PR can complement and supplement advertising but is not a substitute. In conjunction with a strong advertising campaign, PR can extend an advertising message to reach a niche audience and disseminate information more quickly and clearly than advertising.
