My run-in with John Edwards at an inopportune time.
Meeting John Edwards on the same day the news broke that he had an affair.
My Latest Celebrity Encounter
On Wednesday July 23, my wife and I were flying to New Orleans to visit my mother. We had a layover in Houston. Sitting in the Houston airport, I saw a man talking on the phone who looked like John Edwards. After staring at him for about 15 minutes and being more and more convinced that it was really John Edwards, he finished his phone call, and I decided that I wanted to ask him.
The Approach
So I approached him, shook his hand and asked him if he was John Edwards. He said that indeed he was. I asked if he was going to be Obama's VP. He said, "I wouldn't plan on it." He put his arm around me and I got my picture taken with him. He was very kind and all smiles.
The Scandal Breaks
I told my best friend about my encounter, and he showed me this news article which came out the SAME day. Apparently, John Edwards has a secret love child with a mistress. Maybe that's why he told me not to plan on him being the Democratic VP. Hah!
The Man and the Legend
In closing, as you can see from my picture, and as I witnessed in real life in all of its glory: John Edwards has perfect hair. Those $400 haircuts really are worth it!
