About the Movie

The Plot
John Wayne has the role of Marshal John Carruthers in Blue Steel, teaming up in this film with George "Gabby" Hayes, who has the role of Sheriff Jake Withers. The sheriff is on the trail of the Polka Dot Bandit. When the sheriff sees Carruthers near an empty safe after a payroll robbery, he suspects that Carruthers may be the Bandit. The identities eventually get straightened out, and both the sheriff and the marshal go after the bad guys.

The Cast
Yakima Canutt, who portrays the Polka Dot Bandit in Blue Steel, was a film stuntman, and was also John Wayne's friend and colleague. Canutt and Wayne collaborated on the development of several movie stunt and movie fighting methods.
