Deer & Company started in 1837 but they started to expand their equipment product line and included tractors in 1912. The company started experimenting to build their own line of tractor products and their most successful project was Dain All-Wheel-Drive. John Deere Tractors initially came with 2 cylinders. They sold about 1.25 million of those 2 cylinder tractors before started manufacturing 4 cylinder ones. A new generation of power was included in the 4 cylinder tractors in 1960. To introduce this new line of product, the company chartered lot of planes to fly more than 5,000 people over at Dallas, Texas in August, 1960.
