My Connection

I grew up as a kid on the next street over from the Ray family in Aloha, Oregon.  Somehow I had it in my mind that Johnnie was a contemporary of my older brother born in 1937.  According to Wikipedia he was 10 years older, however.  Maybe my brother was exagerating his connection.

Everybody loves a brush with celebrity, I guess.   What's yours?

Johnnie Ray at a Glance

John Alvin Ray (January 10 1927 - February 24 1990) was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. Popular for most of the 1950s, Ray has been cited by critics as a major precursor of what would become rock and roll, for his jazz and blues-influenced music and his animated stage persona.
