Johnny Depp: The Reason for Human Cloning?

Here's something I don't always readily admit - or maybe I do - I've had a crush on Johnny Depp since I was 12 years old. Scary, huh?

Once labeled a "pretty boy," Johnny Depp fought that label by showing Hollywood and the rest of us just how uber-talented he was. Shucking Jump Street for Scissorhands, you'd have to be living in a cave somewhere not to know who Johnny Depp is these days.

These are some of his best performances in my humble opinion. And it's an oh-so-humble one, too.

Thank you so much!!!

The Infamous Tattoo

1SquidAddict asks: "Is it true about the tattoo? When he broke up with Winona (Ryder) he apparently had his 'Winona Forever' tattoo changed to 'Wino Forever'?"

Absolutely true. In 2004, Johnny told Playboy Magazine, "It's the kind of thing you do on the spur of the moment. Then you break up, but it's still there."

So, he changed it to "Wino Forever," which he told Playboy is "actually a bit more accurate."

And for those of you who like photographic evidence. Here's the before:

And after:

Moral of the story:

When you feel you're in love and want to get it in ink,
Take just a second or two and really, really think.

Other Kids Packed Lunch

In the late 80s, Johnny Depp wasn't a movie star yet. He'd made a few movies that were mostly forgettable, but he hadn't really made a name for himself yet.

Then he signed on for a television series about a group of young undercover cops who infiltrate an innumerable amount of high schools for one reason or another. Yeah, it was a somewhat wonky concept.

21 Jump Street became a hit with the Jr. High and High School set and for the first time, Johnny Depp began to grace the walls of many a teenage girl.

Ask him about Jump Street now and Johnny cringes. The title of this module comes from a recent Letterman appearance where he recalled a billboard that publicized the show with his face plastered across the billboard as he held a gun. Under his photo read the caption, "Other kids pack lunch."

Despite the fact that he's not so fond of it, many still remember it with fondness. Admittedly, I only saw the series years later when curiosity got the better of me.

I have guys ask me all the time, "What's the big deal with Johnny Depp?" Many of them see the acting ability, but then counter with statements such as, "Well, Pacino (or other actor) is a good actor, too." So...

I didn't know that Johnny was embarrassed about his Jump Street days. He needn't be 'cuz that was a quality series. I cut my Depp teeth on 21 Jump street and because since I'm a guy, the eye candy for me was Holly Robinson (now Peete), it was easy for me to look past the pretty boy looks and see that Depp had some strong acting chops and had a future. Did I know he would be as big as he is today? No, but he deserves it on talent alone. I can honestly say he is the best actor of my generation.

what a cute kid. Hope he never forgets where he came from, what he learned from being one, and still has enough within. Ingriguing and Saucy, one of those actors who obviously studies his parts using all God gives you. Honestly believe you must 'feel' to see the bigger picture in life. Nice Lens
