Readers Talk Back

Here's what others are saying about Simple Little Words:

"If you want an enjoyable and rewarding experience read this book and ask God to make you the kind of person that says a word of encouragement to those you meet. They will be better for it, and so will you. I loved reading this book."
-Tim LaHaye, NY Times Bestselling co-author of the Left Behind series

"Words of encouragement are like music to the soul. Simple Little Words: What You Say Can Change a Life will inspire you to say those encouraging words to someone who needs to hear them. A word of warning-you might want to keep a tissue handy, because the stories in this book will tug your heartstrings and bring tears to your eyes."
-Karlene and George Beverly Shea, legendary gospel singer and recording artist

"Wow! Michelle Cox and John Perrodin offer captivating stories of encouragement's power in Simple Little Words and show us how to make that same difference in another's life. But don't start this book before you are supposed to leave for a meeting. You won't want to stop reading."
-Sandra P. Aldrich, author of From One Single Mother to Another

"Simple words. Sometimes they flow so easily, the speakers don't realize the impact of their words. Yet those words can change attitudes, shift direction in life, offer hope, or thoroughly crush the hearers. In this book, nearly 40 people share the words that changed their lives or the impact their statements made on others. I finished this book with the thought: What we often think of as simple words become powerful when spoken. We never know the impact of what we say."
-Cecil Murphey, writer or co-writer of more than 100 books, including 90 Minutes in Heaven and Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story.

"Get out the tissue and get ready to be inspired. Simple Little Words will not only change your life, but it will equip you to change other's lives for the good in small ways that make a BIG difference!"
-Pam Farrel, author of over 25 books including best selling Men are like Waffles, Women are like Spaghetti, & Woman of Influence

"Do not attempt to read this without a box of tissues. Beautiful words, inspiring stories, and a reminder to us all about the power behind the little things we say."
-Eva Marie Everson, best-selling author, national and international speaker

"Simple Little Words is neither simple, nor little. This wonderful collection of stories about how simple words can bless, is a blessing in itself. It would make a lovely gift."
-Deborah Raney, author of Within This Circle and Leaving November

"Words can destroy. Or, as we see in Simple Little Words, they have the power to heal, encourage, motivate, change, and inspire. Proverbs 15:4 tells us, 'Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.' The authors who shared their stories in this book know the power of words, and the power of the Word."
-Yvonne Lehman, award-winning author of 46 novels, director of the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference

"Heartwarming, inspiring, and poignant, Simple Little Words is a gem of a book."
-Steven James, professional storyteller and author of more than 24 books

"What a collection! If you're like me, you'll want to keep reading story after story, all in one sitting. Instead, pace yourself, savor the encouraging words-and keep the tissues handy."
-Robert Elmer, author of Like Always and the Shadowside trilogy

Here is a review from Christian Book Previews of Simple Little Words:

"Sometimes we just need to know that we're loved and that we're worth something. Anyone in need of this kind of encouragement will enjoy the collection of more than 30 true stories gathered by Michelle Cox and John Perrodin in Simple Little Words. Many of the contributors to this collection are world famous authors, such as Jerry B. Jenkins (Left Behind), Karen Kingsbury (When Joy Comes to Stay), Dennis E. Hensley (The Power of Positive Productivity) and Ken Wales ("Christy" and "Amazing Grace"). Each story reminds readers of God's unending love for us; we're worth everything to Him. The collection shows us that, while it may seem as though the world is caving in and everyone hates us, for a fact, there are people out there who genuinely care about us.

Michelle Cox, co-editor of this collection, offers a story from her childhood that is poignant and illustrative. Having few friends and lacking any confidence as a youngster, Michelle was morbidly depressed. Then one day a woman she admired turned to her and told Michelle that she had lovely, deep, beautiful eyes. Suddenly, Michelle felt feminine, unique, and confident. It changed her whole life. Other authors recount times when something they said blessed another person, someone said something encouraging to them, or God reminded them of Scripture verses that gave them courage during hard times.

Simple Little Words can be read for a month as a daily devotional. It can be given as a gift to someone who feels depressed or unworthy of love or forsaken. The various stories provide moments of laughter, sessions of joyful tears, and words of motivation and inspiration. They address people of all ages and roles in life. Anyone can play an important part in someone's life with a few, simple, encouraging words." - Harmony Wheeler, Christian Book Previews.com

Here is a five-star Amazon review of Perrodin and Jenkins's book Tattooed Rats:

"Once I started reading this book, I had a hard time putting it down! This story chronicles a world where it's illegal for Christians to speak up about their faith. It follow's a boy named Patch as he denies what is to be "the norm" and ends up in a mental facility. But something happens--while in the mental facility, he starts to tell others about God. And the remarkable thing is, it sparks interest and questions. Of course, I am not going to chronicle the entire book, but I will tell you that it's something that you won't want to put down once you start reading it! I suggest reading this book and then passing it one to someone who might not be saved. Or even to someone who is---and be thankful that it's not illegal for us to show our faith!"

Here is a five-star Amazon review of Perrodin and Jenkins's book Demon's Bluff:

"This series is fast paced, and thought provoking. It is for the young adult, or young at heart adult, reader. Both of my teenagers and myself really enjoyed both books so far in the series, and anxiously await the next one!"
