Joli OS is the Linux based operating system of Jolicloud.
It is the heart and the most important part of the Jolicloud desktop.

The operating system is aiming at the slower computers, which means, you can install it on any computer you like.
Joli OS runs on up to 10 year old PCs.

You can easily recycle an old notebook and use it just like every other computer.
Joli OS is incredible fast. Your old PC with Joli OS installed will be probably faster than your new one with Windows.

The interface is easy to use, although takes some time to get used to. When you first start Joli OS, you have to be connected to the internet.
That is no suprise, because the whole desktop and all the configurations are taken straight from your JoliCloud account.

That means, every time you run Joli OS, no matter on which computer, you will always have your predefined configuration, all of your apps and all of your online stored data.

Of course you won't be able to access your local files with another device, but It is enough to know that you can always access all of your online documents and files, no matter on which computer you are.

Your local files can still be accessed, don't worry. Joli OS enables you to access your files on your disk, run locally installed applications like VLC and much more. You can basically do everything you could do in Windows or another Linux distribution.

The best part about Joli OS is probably the installer. It can be installed easily as a second operating system by just running the installer in Windows. After installing it, you will be able to select which operating system to use each time you start your computer.
Uninstalling Joli OS is as easy as installing it. You uninstall it just like a normal application.
