Making OCD Funny!
Jon Richardson is one of the UK's fastest rising comedians, recently nominated for the If.com Comedy award at the Edinburgh Festival. His favorite subjects for his material are based on his own Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and his fear of women.
His partnership with Russell Howard on BBC 6music is very popular with the podcast of the show being in the BBC's top 10 downloads.
Jon obviously doesn't like his photo being taken by the look of his picture for the BBC, the only other picture found on the web was the arty number you will see below.
Jon's Bio on Wiki
Jon Richardson (born September 26, 1982, Lancaster, Lancashire, UK) is a Swindon based British comedian who entered stand-up in May 2003 and with his first ever live performance he progressed to the regional finals of that year's BBC New Talent Comedy Search. He marked the end of his first year in comedy by becoming one of six acts to reach the final of the J2O sponsored Last Laugh Competition where he performed for an audience including Jasper Carrot at the Criterion Theatre in London's West End. He has also supported Alan Carr.Within just a year and a half he had realised his dream and was working nation-wide as a full-time comic. Consistently high levels of performance, a willingness to work whenever and wherever the opportunity arose and a tireless desire to generate new material have been the secrets of Jon's success.
Stand up
He now works regularly at Brighton Komedia, Just The Tonic Nottingham, The Glee Club and Bristol's Comedy Box and Jesters. He has performed at festivals in Leeds, Guildford and Bristol and has headlined university gigs for Off The Kerb and Avalon. Abroad he has compered in the French Alps, headlined in Barcelona and performed a one-man show in Greece.
Jon was nominated for the if.comedy award Best Newcomer 2007 after his eagerly anticipated debut show at Edinburgh. He didn't win but being nominated out of over 350 different comedy shows was a huge achievement in itself.

I saw an airblade in a French service station. I had been stuck in the car for several hours so naturally I got overly excited and shouted "It's a Dyson Airblade!" I can never go back to France again.

I spied an air blade in the toilets at the exit of Alton Towers! It was the most exciting part of the day...and that was after riding oblivion!

Saw Jon last night at The Comedy Box in Bristol, he did a blinder of a show, though he had to work hard to recover from the worst ever 'warm-up' act ever! Gary Delaney delivered some of the oldest and worst one-liners I have ever heard, people were muttering comparisons with Bernard Manning and other old style bad taste comics. I know he was parachuted in as late replacement but really...... Posted February 02, 2008 |
I went out the other day (I don't recall where), and they had Dyson Airblades in the bathroom! I immediately began pointing and exclaiming, "Dyson Airblade! Look!"
No one understood, I'm afraid.
They are, however, rather magnificent. Even if watching your skin move is a tad unnerving.
