An innocent was brutally murdered. If you believe the reports, the mishandling of the murder case is beyond a shame and a disgrace. I can’t even think of a word to describe this injustice.

Im doing a project on her now, this is so sad

I believe that the police were inexperienced with murder and botched the entire investigation. They then wanted to quickly wrap things up and only looked at the parents. I think the parents were not involved and it was an outsider who perhaps knew the family (not necessarily a friend).

Hmmm I need to investigate this Burke-theory a little more closely. But at the moment I think the parents were involved. I think her father was abusing her and maybe even the mother. But I think she definitely helped to cover it up. They are just way too fishy to me.
    Nice lens. :)

Everybody in the Ramsey household have been ruled out as suspects through DNA evidence.

JonBenet was a tragic little girl.
  • JoanneOtt Apr 4, 2011 @ 10:31 pm | delete
What a tragic story. I don't imagine whoever killed her will ever be brought to justice, that person may not even still be alive.

A tragic story of a precious little girl, it seems like it was just yesterday. We remember you JonBene't and we are sorry we lost you. Very sadly, well done.

These pageants do awful things to little girls, I can't say enough
  • Ramkitten Oct 21, 2010 @ 10:50 am | delete
This was really interesting. Quite a few facts I'd not heard before. Recently, I read that detectives were once again trying to question JonBenet's brother, but last I heard he was refusing to talk to them.

Hard to believe it's over 13 years now since that girl was killed. It's terrible that no one has been caught for this. The police made some huge mistakes that likely had contributed to the fact her killer remains free.

It could have been a crazy male fan or someone that worked at her fathers building that knew about the money but I think it was her brother that is why the parents cleaned up covering who really did it ,I think it was a cover up maybe one day we will know who really did it but what a sad story for this little girl

Such a terrible case. I hope they one day catch her killer. Great lens.

This is still such a tragic story. I hate that this precious little girl was exploited in the beauty pageants and even more that she lost her little life in such a horrible way. Angel Blessings to you.

Well done lens on a tough subject.

I can't help but say that the exploitation of children by showcasing them as beauty Queens at such a young age is shocking to me.

Have you ever seen "Little Miss Sunshine?" A wonderful take off on this theme.

I have followed this story for years - read a couple of the books, too. And I still can't decide what I think. The case is a puzzle. I hope when they reopen, they will be able to solve it.

You've done a very good job with this lens about Jon Benet. Sure would be good to find out who brought her young life to an end.

I think the biggest problem in this case was an inexperienced police force, and sadly they may have botched the investigation beyond recovery. When something this serious happens in a small town the local bureau of investigation should be called immediately to handle the investigation. I live in Colorado and know small town police forces well, they just don't have enough experience to handle serious crimes.

This is such a topical lens today when we look at the other murders of young beautiful children -- it is appalling to think that someone could harm children. You'd think that this case would have been 'solved' quicker. You've done a good job with this lens!
