Joni Lamb Bio:

Drawing upon her experiences as a wife, mother, and television personality, Joni also shares the inspiring stories of others, celebrities and everyday folk, who found fresh hope in difficult circumstances by surrendering all:
- the couple whose marriage was fully restored-two years after their divorce,
- the mother whose faithful prayers for her drug-dealing son received an unexpected answer,
- the romance novelist who surrendered her career and found a whole new level of success,
- and the renowned sportscaster whose alcohol addiction nearly destroyed his life - until he chose to believe that God had greater plans for his future.
The Lambs live in Dallas, Texas, and are the parents of three children: Jonathan, Rachel, and Rebecca. Their family ministers frequently throughout the country.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

_____
Is there anyone you want to interview that you haven't interviewed yet?
I would like to interview any of what I call the "generals" in the kingdom-people like Billy Graham and Oral Roberts. One of the people I wanted to interview was Mother Teresa, but now she's gone on to be with the Lord. However, when I was in India, I got to the Mission of Mercy Hospital and see the work she did.
___
What's your story of surrender?
My initial surrender took place when I was six and had my first realization that there was a God, but it wasn't until 1980 when I was 20 years old that I wrote a letter of surrender to the Lord. At the time, I was coming out of a relationship with a young man who I knew I shouldn't have been in relationship with. Basically, I was saying to the Lord, "Take my life and use me. I want to be in Your perfect will." It was my heart's cry. I didn't realize it at the time, but those words were so powerful when I wrote them. I tucked the letter under my mattress, and God just began to open doors supernaturally. A few months later, I met my husband, Marcus.
My whole life has been a journey of surrender. When I gave up my plan and moved from the driver's seat to the passenger's side and said, "Okay, God I want what You want for me. I surrender to you, the One who created me and designed me," then He had something in store for me that I could have never imagined. It's what I'm doing today. I would have never chosen to do what I'm doing. I would have never had enough confidence to think I could've done it. It's amazing.
___
Is the book only about your story?
I share many stories of surrender from people I've interviewed over the last 20 years. There are all kinds of stories that I think will resonate with people and give them hope. And not all the stories have a perfect ending. But it just shows that when you surrender your life to the Lord, not only do you find peace and purpose, but you know that during the good times and the bad times-and you'll have both-that He is faithful, and He'll see you through. A surrendered life is the only place in eternity where there's peace.
___
How do you want people to remember you?
I want people to remember Jesus in me. I'm really not concerned as much anymore about how they remember me as much as I'm concerned that they remember that I loved the Lord and that I was a good representation of Him to the world. And if I can accomplish that and finish the course He set before me and finish strong, then that would be my goal.
A Special Message to Daystar Ministry Partners
At the top of the program, the Lambs shared a compelling, transparent account of a personal challenge in their marriage that occurred several years ago, involving an inappropriate relationship between Marcus and another woman. After Joni told her husband the Lord convinced her he was worth fighting for, together they submitted to an intense process of repentance, forgiveness, reconciliation and restoration through pastoral counseling and personal accountability under the leadership of an expanded church-based spiritual authority team.
Joni and Marcus chose to reveal their story -- not to excuse a sin, but rather to celebrate the victory of God's grace and redemptive purpose in their lives. This has resulted in an expanded ministry vision focusing on marriage restoration among other couples and families, which they have already been facilitating one-on-one among friends.
However, Joni further explained that three people who were not involved in nor affected by their marital situation are now saying that unless Daystar pays them $7.5 million, they will take the story the Lamb's shared on the Tuesday broadcast to the news media. She assured viewers this is not a secret issue they were hiding, but rather a personal matter from which they have been privately healing, at the recommendation of their spiritual counselors.
Marcus concluded that for 38 years he has faithfully preached the Gospel, but for the past several years he has lived a transformative Gospel of grace. On behalf of his wife, he expressed their appreciation for the ongoing prayers of Daystar viewers for their family and ministry in the days ahead.

- Wish I got their shows but just passing through here was very uplifting! The Dr. Phil interview is quite moving. One rarely witnesses true repentance in action. Dr. Phil didn't take the easy way out. Eye has not seen nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man what God has prepared for those who dearly love Him and are called according to his purposes ~ not the exact scripture, but that's what came to mind just now. Father has a way! You did an amazing job on this with love in your heart!
