You Tube Child Musicians: Meet The Sleepy Man Banjo Boys featuring Jonny Mizzone
Introducing the Sleepy Man Banjo Boys: brothers Jonny, Robbie and Tommy Mizzone.
They describe themselves on their website as "Over eight hundred miles from the Grand Ole Opry and the birthplace of Bluegrass, 8-year-old banjo picker Jonny Mizzone and his brothers, Robbie and Tommy might be the most unassuming bluegrass trio in the region. The Sleepy Man Banjo Boys are the result of faith in God, brotherly-love, and a passion for this fast pickin' & fiddlin' genre. Though their combined age is younger than music's Hip-Hop era, it's the music of Flatt & Scruggs & Ralph Stanley that inspires the sound pouring from the strings of Jonny's banjo, Robbie's fiddle, and Tommy's guitar.

Meet The Sleepy Man Banjo Boys

Jonny Mizzone has a funny habit of a playing his banjo lying down, with his eyes closed. He's only 8 years old and plays a banjo that is much larger than his small frame. From this, these three ultra-talented brothers formed a band they call "Sleepy Man Banjo Boys". But there's not a man among them.
Tommy Mizzone is just 13 years old, Robbie Mizzone takes the middle at 12 years old and Jonny Mizzone is just 8 years old.
They have a debut CD set for release in December, with proceeds to be donated to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.- Sleepy Man Banjo Boys Website
- Just as comfortable plucking on his back, eyes closed, Jonny was the inspiration, and the name had emerged: the Sleepy Man Banjo Boys were born.

- I can hear the Flatt & Scruggs influence and would not have guessed the music was being played by such young men! Thank you for introducing me to the Mizzone brothers. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of them in the future.
