Lesson 3: Adding article content
You've set up your website, and now you need stuff for people to read when they visit.
Content takes many forms in Joomla!, from images, galleries, videos, and text.
In this tutorial we will create several very simple articles in which we describe our four products. In each article we will place an image.

This is where we got to
in Lesson 2

Write some articles
just a few words for now
In this lesson we start by adding four articles in the Products category.
Two are in Product type No. 1, and one each in No.2 and No.3 type.
Product No. 1 - Blue 1 and Red 1
Product No. 2 - Purple box
Product No. 3 - Orange ball
Go to the backend (Administrator) of the site, and add an article for our Blue widget.

Click on Add New Article
in the Site Control Panel

Enter the name of the product in the title bar
Choose the parent category in the drop down

Use a simple text editor
and copy the text and paste into the article
You can write some content directly in the text editor inside Joomla! 1.7
It is absolutely imperative that you don't write your content in a word processor, as these programmes add their own styling which will prevent your page from validating properly.
If you are more comfortable using a programme such as Microsoft Word®, then use the icon to paste from Word, that is available in some text editors in Joomla! This method will 'clean' the text for you.
I find Notepad the easiest, and the text can be pasted straight in.
Do ALL your styling (pretty-ing up the words) in Joomla!
