Artist Styles "United State of Pop"
Titled "United State of Pop," the mashups or mixes of songs compile the most opular radio plays of a given year. To date, T-Pain, Justin Timberlake and Rihanna have each featured in songs used for every "United States of Pop."
"I thought, wouldn't it be cool to take a bunch of songs from a single year and mash them all up together, to make a sort of musical time capsule capturing the zeitgeist of the era," said Jordan "DJ Earworm" Roseman in a 2008 Mother Jones interview.
At IDEA 2008, Roseman explained the art of the mashup. He shared that he uses Ableton Live to build his compilations.
