A Virtual Concert with the Gifted Josh Groban
The Grobanites for Charity are a dedicated group of Josh Groban fans, working together to make a difference in the lives of children everywhere.
Since we have to pick a Squidoo Charity as part of the Virtual Concert Contest, I picked the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. The EGPAF foundation is also working to prevent pediatric HIV infection and to eradicate pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs.
I have been lucky enough to see Josh Groban in concert three times. Twice with the Closer Tour and once with the Awake Tour. I felt very fortunate to see him early in the Closer Tour, in a smaller Auditorium in Sacramento, since it was a much more intimate experience than the larger concerts I saw later. Phenomenal show from a phenomenal person.

Grobanites for Charities
Making a Difference in the Lives of Children Everywhere
Grobanites for Charities (GFC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which is run by a very dedicated group of volunteers and devoted fans (Grobanites).These Grobanites for Charity volunteers have banded together with thousands of Josh Groban fans all over the world to support a variety of charitable causes.
Their main focus is to raise money for The Josh Groban Foundation, which supports children in need around the world through contributions to the arts, education and healthcare.
Since 2004 Josh Groban fans have already raised nearly $750,000 (3/4 of a million dollars) for his Foundation through on-line auctions, donations and fundraisers at fan gatherings.
The Grobanites for Charities have raise funds, made blankets and pillowcases and donated toys for children around the world. Some of their projects include Grobanites for Africa, Tender Totes and Heavenly Dreams, Zamimpilo Kids - "Don't let me go it alone," Operation USA, South Central Gifted Scholar Fund, The David Foster Foundation, Grobanite Toy Drive and Riley's Wishes.

I'm not crossing over from anything. I think of it as pop music with different influences.
When I walk in the music store, [my] album is under classical/pop/easy listening.
It's hard to say what genre it is. It's genreless.
I try not to define what it is. I let the audience define it. Because for me, it's just me.

Music to Raise Money = A Good Time By All
U2 talks about the One Campaign in every concert they have. Coldplay talks about Oxfam International. A stage with thousands of screaming adoring fans is a good time to promote a good cause.Remember "We Are the World"? Farm Aid? Band Aid? All hosted to raise money for causes. How? Bands got together to perform, raise awareness and donate money. What a great idea!
Summer is concert season. It seems like all bands go on tour. Nothing like live music on a warm summer night!
What if you could host a benefit concert? You have a cause that's important to you. What better way to have it announced than by your favorite performer in a room full of people who paid big bucks to get there?
This is the point of the Virtual Concert Week on Squidoo.
